Oh, there are so many reasons.... The straw that broke the proverbial camel's back was when I saw my pictures from Hawai'i (June 2007). Not so pretty. I was athletic all the way through high school, though I never really ate that well. At college I tried to workout, but it slowly got pushed aside as my workload got heavier. Senior year was the worst. I spent the entire year couped up with my design team working on our senior design project. I barely worked out and my eating habits were horrible. Graduate school was better, and I got my body under control again. Recently, however, I found myself wanting to do more than just maintain a weight. I want to be stronger and leaner. Seeing those pictures from my vacation finally made me decide definitively to make a change. Now I'm working out almost everyday. I'm already seeing changes, and I'm looking forward to what the next year will bring.
Why I Love It:
I like the discipline and challenge. I love seeing progress on a daily basis as I do more reps or add more weight. I haven't been doing this for very long, but I am already seeing visible results. I like knowing that I have control of my life and have finally taken control of my body.
How I Stay Motivated:
Everyday I tell myself that I can do this. I think where my hard work will take me. I challenge myself every workout to out do my last. The personal competition does a lot to keep me going.

Check out the fierce pomeranian in the corner. :)
I was an athlete as I grew up. Things have changed since then. I've recently decided that it's time to take myself in hand. I want to be strong and lean again. I want to see my six pack. I want sleaker curves. I would like to have less than 20% bodyfat. I would like to be able to bench press my own body weight. I want to be able to do chin ups and pull ups again. I know with dedication I can take these first steps by August 2008.
What is the one tip you would give somebody who is just getting started?
Push yourself hard, keep a detailed log, and change things as your body adapts.

Do you currently have a workout partner?
Yes
Why do you like having a workout partner? What are the benefits?
It keeps me accountable. There are times in the morning that I really don't want to get out of bed. Knowing my workout partner will be at my apartment soon is a good kick in the pants to get me out of bed. Also, while working out we can chat while lifting. It keeps me engaged and hard working. It keeps me accountable. There are times in the morning that I really don't want to get out of bed. What do you think about people who "grunt" loudly while working out? Do you do it?
I think it is quite amusing. Yes, I sure do grunt..
I'm currently following Vince DelMonte's "No Nonsense Muscle Building" program. As a student I can't afford a trainer. He does a very good job outlining the structure of the program. The workout changes every couple of weeks, so I'm not going to outline it here, but so far I'm enjoying it and...
Oh that's great that you added me. I am really happy because of it. Why? Because I have a friend now who has a sexy body despite of overweight. Don't be afraid because of my profile is inactive. It is just temporarily.
VictorTenuta (MuscleTech rep) said to take before pictures again with a national newspaper as per the rules. A USA Today would work. He aplogizes for the inconvenience.
THANKS FOR THE ADD!!!
Hey Darshiva girl just read your profile...YOUR'RE BEAUTIFUL! It is not an easy process but with clean eating and training YOU CAN DO IT... and I know you will. I can't wait to see your progression in the next months to come. It is going to take time so BE PATIENT...Base your success on your weekly goals NOT on how others may LOOK... IT WILL HAPPEN! Enjoy your weekend. I'll check back in on you. Take care of you.

I have found you get the best results using a proven nutrition & workout program if you want to lose fat and get into better shape. I followed the Body for Life 12 week program and lost 50 lb’s and my bodyfat dropped from 36% to 10% and my wife (bodyspace: judimax) went from size 12/14 to 4/6. I believe by using their nutrition weightlifting & cardio program you will be amazed at the changes and the speed at which they can occur. Give me a yell if you wish.
