Overall Goal: to be Strong and Fit enough to keep hitting multiple homeruns during softball games to the point where the pitcher just tells me to take first base... (just like i did on Sunday May 31, 2009)
I've always played sport from basketball to little league baseball...I played sports in high school; soccer, basketball, baseball, and golf. I started lifting weights and playing pick up games of basketball in college to stay in shape. I started lifting more then playing ball. i incorporated speed rope into my training and noticed a significant difference in my agility and speed on the basketball court.
There was also a time at the beginning of my sophomore year where i had to physically remove someone from my dorm/apartment so the increased adrenaline made me want more from my workouts, I wanted to be bigger, stronger. And from what people tell me today compared to what they told me in the past... i got what i wanted, lol
Why I Love It:
I love pushing myself ...in the Gym ...even when it feels like I've got nothing left, I know I've got more to give and I am going to keep on going. I love feeling sore in the morning, afternoon, and/or night. Working out is the only constant I have, the only thing that keeps me going that keeps me smiling, I know I've got a lot to learn but I'm always hungry for more, I'm addicted. I can't stop. I won't stop.
How I Stay Motivated:
If I see or hear a worthy quote or song that in some way defines my goals or becomes a mental queue to allow for new ones, or if i happen to come up with one myself, I repeat it over and over and over again to keep my mind focused on what i'm doing.
ALSO...Now that I've been a member of the local YMCA for about a year now...I find myself being some what of a mentor in the weight room. This is a "family establishment" so there are a lot of members here who are young and old whom are always looking to make a small change in their own routine. so they either take what they see from my routine OR go ahead and ask if I know something else they can do. This motivates me infinitely and even gives me a little extra pump for my own workouts.
BB Accomplishments:
One of my friends actually described me as "being obsessed with results" ... I simply told her that "obsession is a word the LAZY use to describe the Dedicated"... That shut her up...lol

What Darknesss23 Is Up To:
Oct 26, 2009
Darknesss23changed Weight from 232 lbs. to 245 lbs., a 13 lb. gain in 194 days
to be Strong and Fit enough to keep hitting multiple homeruns during softball games to the point where the pitcher just tells me to take first base... (just like i did on Sunday May 31, 2009)
Goal (Long):
Gain strength and muscle mass, endurance, stamina, and lose fat.
I want to be bigger(but not too big as i found out, its quite difficult for someone of my size to crawl through a tunnel with full fire gear and air pack), leaner, stronger, faster, all the things I would need to fight fires safely and successfully.
SOFTBALL SEASON 2008!!!!!! Hopefully more home-runs in my future!
Also looking to make some friends on here that can keep me motivated and keep me on track and see if i can return the favor.
Final minutes of the workout... Tired, exhausted, and drained.... Muscles already fatigued and swollen.... Thoughts wandering. Trying to stay focused. "YOU CAN DO THIS! ONE LAST SET/ONE LAST REP. GIVE IT EVERYTHING YOU GOT!" Vision clears as you get a tunnel vision effect with...

Do you think that might possibly have something to do with the fact that we speak once every 10 months or so? Lol. Anyway, I actually do remember telling you I was training for a Figure show at the beginning of the year. Thanks anyway :) Have you recovered from your injuries?
Thanks for stopping by and calling me cute. I'm told that a lot in person but not usually online :-) Hows the firefighting going? So how is it as a volunteer? Do you get called out to jobs in your area?
