John, a variety of exercises can help, but too many in one session tends to be counterproductive. Either you don't put your all into every set because you have too many and need to preserve strength for all those sets, or you beat yourself to a pulp and set up a situation where you can't recuperate. My suggestion is to pick just two different exercises and push it to the limit every set.
