Was training competitively for sport while living in the states. Passed a PT school on the way to practise everyday stopped in and was hooked. Was the first time I'd ever been in a weight gym.
Why I Love It:
When I am working out all the clutter of the world just stops. the only thing that is important, that is happening is what I'm lifting or my next stroke swimming. There is nothing else.
How I Stay Motivated:
I look forward to the next moment where the world seems more clear. I also remember how I felt when I was super skinny and underwieght... I don't ever want to feel that weak again.
For ever and ever I have been very active. I have been involved in sports at both recreational and competitive and then coaching levels. In 2007 I was a graduate of NPTI , gaining my CPT and Nutritional Consultant Certification. During the six months of school I started getting interested in fitness modelling, and worked hard to be able to pursue that. Due to several reasons, I fell off track, stopped training completely both as a personal trainer, individually and sport wise and fell into a sedentary funk.
I am now doing my best at getting back on line with myself, am in proces of working toward my CanFitPRO certification and I want to refind my goals of doing a fitness shoot.
Despite my abitlity and joy in designing successful programs for others I seem to be stuck with my own. I'm not satisfyed with my program design, and I am finding that I too need that motivation that I give to others. I realized that despite how hard it is to admit .. Ack I need help.
I figured I would do goals in stages. My fist goal would be along with strength gain and muscle development is to get to 18% BF From there , lower etc.
Evan is a wizz when it comes to making clean food taste great, and his recipes and food suggestions have really helped me get in control of eating consistently.
I am an old fashioned girl when it comes to biceps. I am a big fan of 21's. Especially when standing on an unstable surface like a BOSU or rocker board. Get those core muscles involved.

What tricep workout has worked best for you?
Although at first they scared the living day lights out of me, I found I've had most succes with skull crushers, although it is not always that I can get up the nerve to do them.

What calf workout has worked best for you?
Good ole heel raises. With load bearing over head either Dumbell or empty bar.
It's noon on the 24th of November , 2009 and its about time to give a little writing here. It's been a heck of a while. So, yes I am still breathing, although it was touch and go for a minute.
I am just finishing up in a few weeks my first semester at school, and...
I'm definitely teachable (I think). The friend I mentioned earlier was showing me how to lunge with footwork...very interesting stuff! As someone who has boxed, it's just so unnatural to commit so totally to a move, but in that I found the fascination. You'll have to post some pics of you fencing!
Just think positive thoughts and I'll push hard for you! LOL! Actually, I'm doing plyo-pushps while wearing a weightvest, so I might need prayers as well! LOL!
I've always been fascinated with fencing - wish I could learn - I wonder if my boxing footwork would goof me up???
Fencing! You are too lucky - I worked with a former Cuban fencing champion...that was before he jumped on a sea-worth pile of floating garbage and landed in Miami! LOL!
I'm totally lifting tonight, I'll light a candle and do extra reps for ya! ;)
Spinal?!? Ouchie! So are you limited to certain types of fitness exercises or are you completely banned from it all? Well, in any case, I hope you heal up fast and are able to get back into full swing - that's gotta be a major bummer. I suppose you can exercise vicariously through me...I'll work out extra, double hard for you this Monday! ;)
I'm doing good. Couldn't help but be impressed when I saw your pic and thought I'd stop by and say hey since it's been forever. Great to see your still at it.
Lol...that's the worst, how much your energy gets depleated. Last time I had to take a break started having TMJ issues....didn't even know I was stressed?? But yes, positive thoughts!! And hey, getting the heart rate up and the blood flowing is great for the healing process anyway! -CK
oh wow. Sorry to hear that! Completely unexpected. Wish you the best during this time. So how many doctors have seen you and said, 'No way she's sick from anything. Shes awesome! Just look at the torch shes holding. AND shes breathing!' haha! Take care!
Awesome new pics. Yoga? Or portfolio pictures for future modeling? Well, I hope you've found something, and if not, its cause you have employers fighting over you. Looking great as always, Menara. Keep on rockin!
I understand. Dont get discouraged. It took me about a month to finally land a job at a gym. Working nights, but hey, gotta get started somewhere. Tomorrow Im going to go and see if I could maybe become a group fitness instructor. Maybe be fun. Its gonna be rough for a while, but I'll get through it. And as always, wishing you the best. Keep your head high. You'll find something great!
Stopping by to check in. I hope everything is going well and that you nailed those gym interviews you had. Best wishes to ya always. Keep that torch burnin'
