One day I realized I was getting fat (144 lbs), my hips (due to Osteo-Arthritis) were begining to seriously lock up on me, my range of motion was becoming minimal at best, I was always tired and I knew SOMETHING MAJOR HAD TO CHANGE!
So I decided to join a gym and start working out.
Shortly thereafter, I realized "just working out" wasn't enough... I needed a goal. So, I decided I wanted the "body" of a figure competitor and starting beleiving and training as if that was possible.
5 months later I entered my first competition placing 4th!!!!
I now have a several close friends who are national level/pro competitors, I have hired a nutrionist, done a photo shoot, will possibly appear in Planet Muscle Refomation Issue, I vigorosuly train 6 days a week, I have/am entering more competitions, and will compete at National Levels!!!!
Again I say.... Decide who it is you want to be and THEN BECOME IT!!!!
Many thanks to my faith (God), my amazing friends/motivators, and all the people who helped me along the way and always believed in me!!!

How I Stay Motivated:

wow, Miss I absolutely love your profile on leanladies.com and would love to buy your supplements or help pay for your training monthly. If you are at all interested, please write me back. Thanks.
That's a really good way to look at it, nothing in that's bad. That is where I do poorly...I have a good base diet, and I eat 4 meals plus protein with my workout and before bed, so that's 6 times per day. I also make all my food on Sunday and put it in single serving containers. But then at work I'll eat some candy. It's the temptations outside that get me. I really respect your self discipline!
Wow, you only do cardio twice a week? I do cardio probably 5 days a week, and I have seen people on here who do it more than that. You must control your diet very closely. I just don't have the discipline.
Can I ask how much cardio you do? Do you control your weight mainly through dietary restriction, or do you do a lot of cardio? I went from about 130 in Jan 06, to 115 in Jun, to 124 now, mostly added muscle. I am trying to formulate how to add muscle and trim fat at the same time.
i saw you at the show, you probably dont remember me but i was the big cop that was backstage and in the audience, you look great. One of my friends place second in here class and her husband placed last in his (black girl and the white guy in middleweight), well anyway good luck
