When I Started:
Jan, 2009
How I Started:
Joined the Army out of high school and spent 6 years with 5th Special Forces Group. Have always been skinny and am now trying to put on some real weight.
Why I Love It:
I enjoy feeling healthier and seeing a change in my appearance based on the effort I put into it.
How I Stay Motivated:
Tracking EVERYTHING. I track every food I eat and every weight I lift, then write about it. This allows me to see that I'm actually making progress.

Do you track your workouts (exercises, weight, reps, etc.)?
Yes
If so, how do you do it? Workout log, software program, etc.? Why do you do it this way?
Excel spreadsheet. Helps me remember what I did last time, and better plan for the current workout. It has also helped me find weak points I need to work on.

Do you tell your friends and/or family about your fitness goals?
Yes
Why or why not?
I regularly keep my wife updated on how much I'm lifting. I don't think she really cares.

What tips would you give to others to help them stay motivated over the long-term?
Keep with it even if you're not always seeing results. Extended breaks are the same as quitting. Get into a routine and it'll make it all easier.
