Had little self esteem, wanted to be proud and not ashamed of how I looked.
Why I Love It:
Seeing results. Seeing people I haven't seen in years freak out at how much different I am. I have been lethargic most of my life... when I'm in the gym I feel alive; its fun. Then results again... Seeing yourself loose fat and add iron to the bar is intoxicating; Its like crack... only good for you.
How I Stay Motivated:
I keep looking in the mirror. I think about how I want to improve. I have great respect for some people on here, would like to think a while down the road someone would respect me for what I will do in the upcoming years involving fitness.
Want a change of life style. Goal is to have pride in myself; look and feel great.
To me, being fat and lazy can almost be as hard as training. One hurts with pain, the other kills you with guilt. So I choose my poison to be fitness; it gets ya laid.
Also taking the high road just makes you feel better. Already I have noticed a MASSIVE increase of endurance from when I started running to now. At first I could only jog for about 5 min, then had to quit. Now I go for at least an hour, then jump in the swimming pool and do laps. Makes ya feel good!
Also lookin for a hobby. This is something I can pour time into, and get something really great back form; a better me.

Doing pretty well. Yes, still going, but traded YMCA for the Wachovia Health and Fitness Ctr. Figured since it was already here at work and I get to save some gas.
