When I Started:
How I Started:
I've worked out off and on since I was a junior in HS, but I never got real serious about it nor did I know how to work out properly. I was one of those guys who thought 3 sets of 8 of one exercise was enough for that body part. Then in my early college years I became lazy and didnt care anymore. I ate fast food all the time and never worked out. Before I knew it, I was 215 lbs and approximately 23% body fat. Round face, man boobs, huge love handles. I had it all. That's when I got serious about working out, and I was at the gym 5 nights a week doing hardcore power-lifting. After a year or so I was 198 lbs, but only about 16% body fat. Still not "cut" by any means, but a HUGE change from 215 and 23%. I was happy with my body for awhile, but then power-lifting got old to me... so I decided to make another transformation. I wanted to be super quick and lean. I'm talking Brad Pitt in Fight Club lean. So I completely re-arranged my whole work out from the 4 sets of 10 with 415 lbs for shoulder shrugs, and 5 sets of 5 at 225 lbs on the bench, and curling 60 lb. dumbbells. I went SUPER light on everything, and doing 10 sets of 8. My cardio went from pretty much non-existent, to running 2-3 miles every other day, sprints in-between, and a diet so clean that I had people calling me crazy. I dropped down to 174 lbs. by mid-2007. I then decided to join the Army, and I came out of Basic Training/Job-training in January 2008, weighing in at 158 lbs. and 10% body fat. I've kept up my diet and training, and as of May 2008, I am 170 lbs. and 12% body fat. My goal that I have set for myself is to reach 8% body fat without losing any of the muscle that I have gained in the last 3 months.
Why I Love It:
It keeps me focused. Being in the Army, physical fitness is a big key to success and getting promoted especially in a combat arms job like I am in. Nobody wants a to look to their right or left and see that they have to a fat guy who can barely run going into combat with them. Also, it helps keep me from going to the bars to get drunk and sleep the day away. I love waking up early on the weekends and going to the gym, it makes you feel better than any alcohol or drug ever could.
How I Stay Motivated:
I look at the old pictures of myself from when I was round-faced and embarrassed to walk around with my shirt off in front of girls. I also look at guys who are more fit than I am, and push myself to be better than they are.
BB Accomplishments:
well in my power-lifting days, I was proud to boast being able to shrug 450 lbs 10 times clean and properly at only 20 years old. I had traps the size of softballs. My accomplishments now are just being able to claim that I overcame very bad eating habits and laziness when it came to cardio to drop 25 lbs of fat.

after I lost some of the chub, but I was still in the low 20's for body fat %. Keep in mind, I was "happy" with this body for about a year, hence the large amount of time b/w this and the newest one.
right after basic training... 158 lbs. 10-11% body fat.
I would like to achieve a body worthy of being on the cover of Muscle&Fitness, Men's Health, etc. I want the striations in my shoulders and chest, the veins in my stomach showing... I want the idolized "Greek God" body.
What do you think about people who "grunt" loudly while working out? Do you do it?
Hey, that just shows they are pushing theirselves to the limit.

What type of outfit do you usually wear when you workout? Why?
jersey shorts, and a cut-off shirt or tank top. It's comfortable, and when the blood starts pumping to your muscles and your veins swell up, it just motivates me even more to keep working.
So basically my reason for having this profile at all is to help myself track the progress I am making, and also to meet new people who inspire me and help keep me motivated to reach the goal I have set for myself. Transforming your body is not an easy task, as anyone on this site knows (or...
