When I Started:
Jan, 2007
How I Started:
I've always been active in various sports throughout school but never really started to work out on a regular basis until college. I pursued a diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion which kept me in the gym a lot for school but I still only worked out occasionally.
I am currently working at GoodLife Fitness as a Personal Trainer.
It was around the start of 2007 that I was bitten by the bodybuilding bug and started hitting the gym on a more regular basis.
Why I Love It:
I love working out for a few reasons..
I love getting in the zone, turnin up some good music, and just going at the weights. Just the feel alone of moving weights around is a rush for me.
I love feeling the pump. There's nothing better than feeling full, hard muscles hangin off your frame while you walk to the fountain after a brutal few sets.
I love the way it makes you feel. If you ever want to get out of a slump and feel better, hit the gym. I swear, leaving the gym after a good workout is paradise. Satisfaction. Accomplishment. Pride. Everything just feels better.
The list could go on and on but I'll quit now. The point is, the benefits of working out are endless and not only do I love it, I'm addicted.
How I Stay Motivated:
Currently I am fairly new to the game so I don't view motivation as a problem yet.
I still read a lot of fitness magazines and surf a lot of fitness websites too so that keeps me hungry.
I will have to come back and revise this entry after I've been lifting for a more significant period of time.
BB Accomplishments:
None to date but I'm planning on changing that in the near future!

What celebrity body would you most like to have? Why?
I've always thought it would be fun to be a bodybuilder and have the physique of a Greek God on roids but in the real world, a more functional body would probably be a bit more suitable (not to mention more easily attainable). With that being said, I've always thought that Matthew McConaughey's body was a good goal to shoot for. The guy's usually in fairly good shape and looks very natural.I've always thought it would be fun to be a bodybuilder and have the physique of a Greek God on roids but in the real world, a more functional body would probably be a bit more suitable (not to mentio...more

What mistakes did you make when you first started working out?
I used to workout in increments (1 week on, 1 week off, 1 week on, 2 weeks off). I had no consistency and therefore saw little, if any, results.
It also took me a little while to realize the intensity that was required while working out. I can't tell you how many workouts I spent practically just going through the motions because I didn't know how hard I could, or should, be pushing myself.I used to workout in increments (1 week on, 1 week off, 1 week on, 2 weeks off). Hey everyone (I love how I write my blogs as if the whole world is reading them when in reality it's probably just me haha), I'm just throwing in another entry here to say that now that I've got a new camera, I will be adding progress pictures of myself on a regular basis. I'm not exactly sure...
You do get hooked, don't you! You've got an impressive physique and an awesome smile! I wish you great success with your goal! Nice work so far - more muscle will look great on you! I look forward to waatching your future progress! ~Ray
Thank you for the comment. Yes, for last 6 wks I cut calories; focused on high quality protein. I also changed to and increased free weights each wk. I lift more plus added more cardio.
