My Motivation Program

OK its been some time since Ive done a 12 week program. I have made up my mind, before I turn 39 i will be in the best shape of my life. End of story! Im tired of being that guy who gets in "OK" shape but cant honestly say i have every been a testoment to the humane will.  Unfortunately i did not take pics of the first 5 weeks. I stared the program on 8/7/12 2 days before my birthday and about 12 weeks before Halloween (see my motivation?); then there is 14 weeks till Carnaval ( what about now?); Then there's 12 weeks till summer (could be a theme here:)); and finally 14 weeks till my birthday (GOAL!!!)... Starting weight and BF was 198lbs @ 17.8% BF at the start of week 7 im at 187lbs @ 15.5% BF.

Cschild7 Starting to get concerned. The scale hasn't really moved in 3 weeks neither has the body day% Ive cleaned diet / upped cardio. What gives??

  • Aud... You may be on to something. I'm on a diet that I've have very good success with in the past. Come to think of it my training did not have much cardio and I manage to go from 20% bf to 14% bf in 12 weeks. On my current program I am running 3miles every morning. My heart rate is maintained at 85-95% (165-175) of max (181) The cardio is helping my endurance/stamina and I have gained strength over the last 3week. Just no weight or body fat movement. Think i should cut out cardio or just work at a lower heart rate?

  • Well I have a coach/trainer so by no means am I even close to an expert but going off what he has me do and seeing the results I would recommend cutting your cardio based on your goals. If you want muscle you are ruining your chances with that much running. Now if you want a runners/crossfit body then you're on the right track. I thought that's what I wanted until I started the "natty bb" way of life. The more I read and the more I learn I realize how much of an idiot I was. Well uneducated anyways. I have more drive, more passion and more motivation for fitness than I ever have. And it's not about the scale. I weigh in every day but only for tracking; not as a sole guideline to my success/failure. The mirror is what is the true picture of what your body is doing. My coach has done amazing things with and for me and I am forever grateful. Can't wait to get at the competition level!!

Cschild7 Made it through the weekend! Did a body pump class, went swimming, a little late night dancing. Most importantly I'm now 2 weeks smoke Free!

  • yaaayyyy. Congrats!! I tried to quit smoking...I just can't do it cold turkey, I don't have it in me. I have been using the electronic cigarette. Still bad for me but a friend quit by lowering the nicotine content over time. More my speed.
