How I Started:
I've always been a workout nerd. At 10 years of age I remember "Sweatin' to the Oldies" with my mother's Richard Simmons workout tape. Exercise just always did it for me.
However, in my late teens and through my early twenties, I fought a hard battle with anorexia.
By the grace of God, I've recovered....but not before whittling away my muscles to nothing.
I'm on a mission to look and feel my very best. I'm reclaiming my health, my strength and my life!
Why I Love It:
Nothing gets me amped up more than seeing progress. I like to compete with myself. To know that I'm getting stronger, faster, and healthier is MY JAM!

After years of anorexia, forget skinny! I want to be STRONG, healthy and happy!
Goal (Long):
For years I've had a "Geezus, girl. Go eat a hamburger" body. For five long years, I struggled with anorexia.
As a survivor, I don't want a body that's stick thin. I want a body that is strong, powerful and most of all healthy!
I'm hoping to gain muscle mass, tone and definition.
I find this member incredibly inspiring. Anyone who can overcome an eating disorder is heroic in my eyes. But what particularly amazes me about hedismommy is her lifestyle transformation. She went from starvation to strength-training. She exchanged debilitating, life-threatening disorder for a strong, healthy body and lifestyle. That takes courage and dedication. I'm inspired!
Thank you so much.. actually I need to update this pic as I just competed a wk ago. I did well and at 49 I want to keep going and going.. no end for me! the more I do these competitions the more of a muscle fanatic I become!! Glad you got over anorexia? Gosh! I've never known anyone with that but being that you're slim, you have no fat to loose and just gain and gain and gain.. You will look even better for a bikini contest. :)
