When I Started:
Nov, 2000
How I Started:
I'm not quite sure exactly how I got started working out. It could have been partly the military and partly self-motivation. I have always enjoyed working out and staying fit. However about three years ago I met a figure competitor that changed my life forever. Kira Neuman, one of the top ten bodybuilding amateurs in the U.S., convinced me to start competing in figure. She helped me get started and from then on I have always had a passion for competing. I'm attracted to the strong will and dedication it takes to achieve competition-shape! I know now that I can commit to anything. Since, I have only competed in one show, and am preparing for my second in October. However, I know in my heart that competing will be a life long journey for me. I plan on competing after I have children (if I decide to), after I'm well into my 30's, and 40's and so on! Hey, who knows, one day I might be the hottest grandma on the block!
Why I Love It:
I looooooove to sweat. I love pushing my body to the extreme. I love shocking people more than anything. I'm very modest for the most part. But I will admit that I get a kick out of other people's reaction when I load up 700lbs on the leg press...especially the men!
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by looking at myself in the mirror every morning. I am determined to be happy with what I see. Each morning I wake I strive to become more and more satisfied with my body and the way I look. Of course I really am working to tone up and look my best at any given moment. But really, my motivation is to NEVER let myself go. I know from experience it can be hard to stay motivated and in shape, but I stay motivated by reminding myself of how good it feels to wake up each and every day and feel happy, healthy, and ailment free with the world at my fingertips. Life is too great!
BB Accomplishments:
So far I placed 5th in the Indiana NPC Body Building Championships in 2006. But don't worry. I'm competing in the 2009 Bikini Divas U.S.A Bodybuilding Championships in October. I only have six weeks to prepare...and I don't care. Look for my update. I plan WIN!!!

I know. This is my MAJOR problem area. It's soooo frustrating!!! But I'm determined to make it right. Wait until you see me in 6 months! What the hell is the point of cellulite anyway???? Hello? LoL ;-)
I find this member inspiring simply because his physique is phenomenal. I see why he is on everybody's top ten for most inspirational. If his body won't motivate you...who's will? LoLï?? He seems to be very modest about his achievements! That's always a plus.
This member should be an i nspiration to ALL women across America. Look at those legs! I bet she's hated all over for that reason alone. Yes, I go to her page from time to time for motivation. However, technically I AM still STALKING her until she adds me as a friend...! Hopefully she will redeem her online status soon. Stalking is just not a good look for me! LOL ;-)
You GO girl!
What do you do before your workout to get motivated and energized?
I get that music pumping. There is nothing that gets me more motivated than a hot song that makes me want to dance on the treadmill. I don't even care how silly I look. How has bodybuilding and fitness helped and/or changed your family life?
Bodybuilding is a stress reliever. I'm sure it has helped me to balance the stress that naturally comes along with a busy life. I'm much more pleasant to be around when I'm of sound mind and body. Are you a parent?
Yes
How has bodybuilding and fitness helped you to be a better parent?
I encourage my step-daughter to eat right and stay fit. She does a wonderful job. She runs track and plays basketball and soccer. I think she's even considering running cross country as well...Good girl!!!I encourage my step-daughter to eat right and stay fit. She does a wonderful job. My weight has always fluctuated. I look back on some of my photos at times and get so upset/ashamed at how I used to look. It's crazy because now, I look back and can't imagine ever allowing myself to get back to the way I used to look. I'mhappier now. Yes, it's very hard to shy away...
Trying something new with my abs and cardio session.
I've diverted from the old boring treadmill and elliptical. The stair-stepper is great but I'm changing it up.
I'm sprinting and doing abs twice daily. After 3 weeks I'm starting the P90X workout from beginning to end.
I will go into...
