Primary Gym:
College:
High School:
When I Started:
1994
How I Started:
I first picked up a barbell in my friends basement when I was 15. It was a cheap plastic set but from the first time I lifted I have been dedicated.
Why I Love It:
Working out just feels good. I was a cross country and track runner through high school and college but always made time for lifting. I love the people I meet through working out. They are the ones that get you and don't look at you sideways when you say "I'm low carbing it" or "I hate cardio."
How I Stay Motivated:
It's an easy thing to do for myself. Everyone makes time for what is important to them. The friends I have met and continue to meet at the gyms I've been a member of are an inspiration to me.
BB Accomplishments:
I won the overall in my first ever contest in October 2008.
This guy knows his stuff. He is about promoting his sport and supporting all those interested in bodybuilding whether they are seasoned or new to it. Thanks for being an awesome inspiration.
This guy is like a superhero straight the comic books. You can't help but want to work hard and aspire to be at his level when he's training next to you. He approaches his workouts with a purpose and humble in his success.
What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
I've had strained muscles, inflamed tendons, and what seemed like chronic soreness. I don't like taking time off but know that a a couple of days won't wreck me so when necessary, I'll take some time to heal. Usually, however, I will lower my lifting weight a great deal and perform slow, controlled, high rep exercises for a couple of weeks.I've had strained muscles, inflamed tendons, and what seemed like chronic soreness. What is the most dangerous weightlifting exercise? Why?
I think squats are the most dangerous. I think many of us get to eager with the weight when starting out and utilize incorrect form with this exercise.
“I saw this guy the other day out of the corner of my eye, and thought ‘man, that dude has got a great build.’ I turned to gain a better perspective and see who this guy was I realized I was looking at myself.”
Few of us can resist mirrors. Whether we like what we see or not,...
