When I Started:
Jan, 2008
How I Started:
I recognized that I could no longer get by with the casual approach to fitness that I had in my younger days. The mirror and photographs made this clear. Achieving and maintaining fitness requires work!
Why I Love It:
I value the energy and stamina that I gain. I like seeing the transformations take place.
How I Stay Motivated:
I am motivated by the great people on this site, their dedication, their hard work, and the encouragement they provide. Keeping track of my personal results also helps a lot. It provides the smaller rewards of seeing incremental improvements in strength and gives me the determination to push myself harder.
BB Accomplishments:
Lost 25 pounds over the past 1-1/2 years and more recently have seen measureable strength gains. But in deference and respect for the true BB's on this site, I do not think that my gains really qualify as Major BB accomplishments, but that's all there is for now.

Lean out a bit more and hold that level. Then methodically add lean muscle in shoulders, biceps, lats, back.
Goal (Long):
Current goal is to achieve an increase in strength and gradual decrease in bodyfat, particularly around midsection.
Accomplished my goal on Dumbbell Bench! Pushed a pair of 80 pound Dumbbells for 10 reps! (10/25/2009).
Another important goal is to increase the number of chinups and pullups that I can do. Current Chinup workout is 14/10/8/6 reps. Current Pull up workout is 11/10/8/7 reps. These are typically done on different days.
David inspires me because he is clearly motivated to improve himself and push himself to new levels. But David is also ceaseless in his encouragement of others, always providing a positive word, but in a very motivating way. Thanks David.
Her dedication and commitment are unwavering despite circumstances. She obviously lifts hard which is a real motivator. I also value her motivational phrases at the top of her profile. Like "Fall seven times, stand up eight". Great stuff. And yes, she looks fantastic!
Broke some new ground on DB today. (Finally! I have been way too satisfied to just maintain for too long!!!)
This old, tired body pushed a pair of 80 lb Dumbbells for 10 reps on the Bench Press. I had gotten myself so psyched for this lift, that it actually seemed quite easy. (Mind over...
I stopped by to say that you look absolutely amazing! I want to compliment you on your dedication, determination and achievement. You are a fantastic example of what can be done when someone decides to get it done and a great inspiration to so many others, especially me. Stay strong, focused and determined.
