Try to build up every week, as in, have your speed workouts/shorter workouts (3-5 miles) be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and then the longer runs (5-10 miles) be Thursday and Friday runs, so you have time to recover on the weekend after your longer runs. This is a really basic running plan, but if you need something more specific, just let me know.

For 5Ks, you probably need about 1 month of hard training to get back into shape, if you've been a runner for life. If you're new to running, then I'd say you need to run about 5 days/week, and mix in both longer runs with shorter speed runs. Since you're not really competitive or anything, if you probably average about 25-30 miles of decent paced running a week for a month or so, you should see a significant drop in your time.

Going to need to do some training beforehand. Did you do any long-distance, aerobic training before those races? That helps. A lot. Without training, unless you're in crazy running shape, you're not going to do to well.

Yeah, been taking dextrose + whey post workout. What about pre-workout? I always feel no energy while workout out, so thinking to take a pre-workout supplement. What do u think?
