When I Started:
Jan, 2002
How I Started:
I've been playing sports since I was 12 so I've been athletic almost my entire life. In high school, I did some weight lifting but it was more a fun class and we weren't taught how, when or why. When I entered college I gained the "Freshman 15." By my second semester, I got dumped by my boyfriend at the time and dove into the gym and volleyball. I exercised and played every night for the next 2 years until I got pregnant at the end of 2003. After my daughter's birth, I dropped the pounds rather quickly but started gaining again in 2006. Since then I've put on anywhere from 5 to 10 pounds even though I continued to go to the gym regularly. Nowadays I'm a lot more educated about everything and enjoy using that knowledge to increase muscle mass and live a healthy lifestyle.
Why I Love It:
It's about the only thing that I never get tired of learning about. From eating healthier to learning about your muscles, it's all pretty amazing to me. I admire anyone who can have such control over their physical appearance (and be completely healthy about it) I feel personal satisfaction knowing I eat better and look better than the majority of those around me.
How I Stay Motivated:
My first motivation is raising my daughter to live a healthy and fit lifestyle. My second motivation is volleyball. If I could play every day, I would but, since it's only once in a while, I want to look and be the best when I get out there and play. Recently I started finding motivation in checking out fitness competitors and their regimens and reading Oxygen magazine.
BB Accomplishments:
None yet. I'm not sure if I'll ever have any since my real goal is to increase my strength and endurance for volleyball. But you never know...I might get the bodybuilding bug and go for it!

Officially addicted to having muscle! This is what I was waiting for!
Goal (Long):
My ultimate goal is to get myself down to about 15% fat and a to have a 28" waist. My waist right now is between 35 and 36 inches which I didn't realize until recently (and that makes me very unhappy)I want to be able to wake up in the mornings completely energized and ready to take on the day with work outs and healthy eating. I would like to enter some marathons, triathlons if possible but most of all I would love to start playing volleyball again. I know my weight, poor eating and lack of muscle are the things that slowed me down in the past and I want to start over this year so I can prove myself to everyone that I haven't lost my skillz
So I keep reading and being told that I need to surround myself with people that will support me. How exactly do I do that? My family definitely doesn't support me so they're out. My tiny group of friends? They don't really care honestly. They'll tell me it's cool but that's about it. As far...
How's everything going? Good to see you got your mo-to back! You've made great progress! Keep pushing! Hope you have a very safe, FUN, and Happy Halloween! :)
