During my last workout I changed things up again and went back to my pyramid style of working out....I had been doing some drop set routines the past couple of weeks but felt that I needed to spend more time with each of my muscles so that I could hopefully make some faster gains.
I do full body workouts on M-W-F and two of the three will be more heavily focused on either upper or lower and the other with be focused on the other more heavily and then I will switch it up the following week.
I do
Reps-12-10-8-6-12 waiting 30 secs in between
Then wait for 60secs. in between exercises.
I go at a pretty slow rate and try to maximize my lift and my lower portions maybe something like a 4141 tempo (maybe)
On T-Th-Sat I do cardio of some sort....I try to do atleast one HIIT routine a week but cardio totally bores me so I try to keep my heart rate up during my ST days and when I bike ride daily so that I don't worry as much about cardio....Did I mention I really don't dig cardio? (just checking)
I have been changing up my workouts every 3 weeks....I began with this pyramid style...Then I went to full body HIT doing one set of 10 and the next to failure...Then I switched to dropsets and now I am back to pyramid....(can you tell that I learned most of what I do in my workouts from reading Bill Phillips over the past 12 years LOL)
I looove the workout tracker on here, probably my favorite part....It's so cool to see how much volume I actually lifted each workout and what my 1RM would be and stuff....Gotta dig it. |
