I am recently back involved in working out after a 6 month hiatus. I have worked out on and off since '96. I've done portions of Body For Life and it's predecessor program for women, Neo-lean.
I've never been as serious about it as I have become these past 2 months and I am loving every second of it.
Why I Love It:
I love the way it feels to push myself past what I thought was possible... to see my progress in my workouts with strength as well as seeing my body transform. I'd much rather have muscle and be fit than a skinny girl (something that genetically just isn't me)
How I Stay Motivated:
Mostly through Sparkpeople.com and my friends there. Using my blog there and my personal blog for accountablility...also, as I see changes taking place I just can't help but stay motivated.
I hope to become a certified personal trainer before the year is through and then focus on nutrition as well.
BB Accomplishments:
If you fail to plan....plan to fail.-Bill Phillips-BFL
I've mostly been focusing on losing fat and building good lean muscle, I need to add more muscle and lose some more fat still.
Goal (Long):
My other goals that I began this journey with 2 months ago have been met. As of today I was able to fit back into my smallest jeans...that was the second of two pair that were goals.
I don't have an exact weight goal...muscle weighing more than fat and such, I do want to be like 12-14% fat...which according to my own caliper testing has already been achieved, I don't believe it though.
I just want to keep going and see what I can make of myself....I still have some trouble spots, like my lower back/upper hip area that could lose fat....I want better abs...I want to build more muscular glutes.
It's a journey...not a destination....(unless I decide I might want to try to compete next year...THAT would be a destination!)

How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
I typically don't rest at all, or at the most 30 secs. I am going for the cardio as well as the weight aspect of it...When I switch between a body part then I will rest 60-90 secs.

How many reps per set do you usually do? Why?
That depends on my routine at the time.
Now I am doing drop sets and usually begin with maybe 6-8 reps and as I progress they get less, sometimes more (depending on the muscle group in question).
I was doing 10 reps and then a set to failure and failure tended to be between 4-7That depends on my routine at the time.

Which pro bodybuilder/fitness/figure competitor has the ideal physique? Why?
Ideal physique is painting it with too broad a brush stroke....There are soo many with amazing physiques and the only thing I could say is who would be someone I would like to emulate and even then, I'd really have to look more.....Buff Mommy maybe...she has a physique I wouldn't mind walking around with in the least :)Ideal physique is painting it with too broad a brush stroke....There are soo many with amazing physiques and the only thing I could say is who would be someone I would like to emulate and even then, I...more
So after reading about Animal Flex here (bodybuilding.com) I decided to give it a shot......As of today I have taken 7 doses and the change is really remarkable....and that's just in a week!
I have mad arthritis in my knees and I had something that felt like tennis or golf elbow in both of...
During my last workout I changed things up again and went back to my pyramid style of working out....I had been doing some drop set routines the past couple of weeks but felt that I needed to spend more time with each of my muscles so that I could hopefully make some faster gains.

Sounds great, I read in magazine that after 2 months of training you should give your body a week off. When i think about it though that seems to hard to do and i cant picture the pros doing that. Is it just me?
haha no prob. Yea there both great. Im on my 10th week of consecutive training and im up to 192 from 183 just over summer. I got more size and my lifts are much better. weekends all good, hows yours?
