Why I Love It:
Because of the energy it gives me the rest of the day. Also, I love to cook and eat: a characteristic that must be equally matched with the love of fitness and exercise!
Goal: To strengthen, improve flexibility, and overall maintain a healthy musculature, while always enjoying a diversity of delicious healthy foods!!
Goal (Long):
::: (1) :::
Shorter-term goal--I've been slacking off doing chin-ups and pull-ups for the past while, and want to get myself in gear doing those again and get the numbers back to a range I'm pleased with! Aiming for 10 pull-ups, 20 chin-ups (all un-assisted, consecutive of course!) by the end of 2009
::: (2) :::
I want to dramatically increase my flexibility this year, to be able to do the splits before 2009 is up (never been even close to it in my lifetime) and to have generally very good hamstring flexibility... I'm seeing progress and it's exciting!
:::(3):::
Running goals:
Some benchmarks I'm aiming for by September-ish (A) for short-distances, to be able to keep up a 18-20 km/hr pace which is fastest on the gyms' treadmills, for more than 2 minutes. and (B) for longer-distances, to be able to run a 5K in less than 22 minutes (avg pace of 13.6 km/hr). This will really be a tough one to improve my pace, but I'm determined!
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 2 kg
Bodyfat Goal:
15%

Another small pace increase in my 5k time! Was able to fairly easily do it at a 11.5 km/hr, and boosting it to 12 for about the last kilometer, too; alltogether between 25:30-26:00. Not too bad after being gone for 2 weeks of holidays with friends and eating *TONS* of delicious Swiss...
You are quite welcome. Thank you in return for accepting my friend invite. Good luck to you in accomplishing all your health and fitness goals. Have a great week.
Yeah, running just takes time. I am a 225lb runner so I am not the most graceful runner but I enjoy the runners high. 5k's are a lot of fun to run. I am doing a half marathon this weekend and I am really looking forward to it. How are you doing? How is Zurich? -Ed
Sounds like a great training program. I would love to run w/ you. I love track workouts. I just ran a 10 mile race on saturday in 77 mins. on 18 July I will be running a half marathon. Have u ran a marathon? BTW, your back looks amazing!
thank you so much! i am really enjoying the training i am having a lot of fun considering all of the running i am doing :) my race is aug. 1 so i have exactly one month to improve!
LoL! We get a lot of temporary digression from summer as well. I am in southern Germany and I stick to indoor routines for the most part. I would love to visit Zurich. My goals are coming along good but I still have a long way to go to get my abs where I want them to be. How was your weekend? How are your goals?
hey there, like your goals, good luck with the splits and your treadmill goal, Ive done similar and really enjoyed the struggles :) Best of luck with your progress
