This is me on 07/14/2207. That's me in the black. I was directing the final shoot of a pair of short films I made for a local film festival. I know ... not a pretty sight, that's why I have not posted any "shirtless" pics! *LOL*
And yes, that's a brace I have on my leg. The long story short ...
AVERT YOUR EYES, IT IS THE HAIRY MAN-BEAST!!!
This is me, fresh out of the shower, right after a workout. I've seen guys in MUCH worse shape than I post their pics. So, I figured I should have the cojones to post one, too. It is not nearly as bad as I was 6 weeks ago.
I need to dump my carbo belly and get lean, healthy and sexy.
Goal (Long):
I recently had an issue with my right knee. In 1985, I tore my ACL and it was not possible to repair it. In 1989, I tore the medial meniscus in the same knee due to lack of an ACL. The surgeon was able to reattach it, but also removed the remnants of my shreded ACL.
At the end of June of '07, my knee almost gave out while climbing a set of basement stairs on a set I was filming in. All through the shoot my knee was swollen and sore. That really sucked!
The meniscus is gone, too, and I am bone on bone in my right knee, with arthritis settling in. My current ortho doc told me in 10 years I may need a knee replacement. I also suffer from blood pressure issues and I hate taking the medications they give me.
So, I need to get the weight off ASAP so I can stop drugging myself and stave off knee replacement surgery for as long as I can.
I've never been able to say, "Oh, I want to dump 20 lbs by the end of the month," and make it happen. So I don't know what to say about how fast I want to lose the weight, just that I'd like to get off at least 20 lbs ASAP and then keep right on rolling until I have a decent six-pack (probably an additional 50 or 60 lbs after the first 20).
Last year, I weighed 240. If I could get down to about 160 or so and then build back up to 240 of muscle, I would, but I don't think my DNA will naturally support building that much muscle. And, back in '89 after I have my meniscus surgery, my ortho doc then told me that my joints were not strong enough to handle as much weight as I was pumping back then. (Yes, I used to pump and I had gotten to the point where I could bench 3 sets of 10 with 135 lbs, when I weighed 170. True, not spectacular, but great for me seeing as I was always the chubbiest, weakest kid in gym glass in high school.)
So, I don't know how big or how strong I can realistically get, I just know that there's no going back.

Well, I have been maintaining a constant 180 lbs. Looking better than I thought but still more work to do. I am going to workout more with my Dave/Chris Carrachi Seal workout tapes. Hardcore and will burn alot. I am going leaner with my diet as the GRILLING season has been upon me. Man i love steaks. Need more fish and chicken now. How have you been doing?
That seems to be too much of a coincidence. I have more in this set coming from the photographer with movement - I've had other's posted, and may switch soon again - but this one is new :) so glad you did 'find' me!
I've had some instruction in that :) It is great - would love to do some more if I could find time for something fun like that during the school year. I should have done that this summer - darn! Tell me kind stranger, what made you drop by to leave such a nice comment? We should be friends now, no?
Hey, sorry it has been so long to answer. My screen name is the name of an Akira class Starship from Star Trek. I liked it so it kind of stuck with me.
