I got into cardio and calisthenics to shed a few pounds. I'd just arrived in New Zealand having sailed from England, and the combination of inactivity on board and comfort eating had left me- if not overweight- then uncomfortable with my size. Unfortunately, this developed into delightful combo of anorexia and exercise bulimia, which I'm now in the process of recovering from. A huge part of the recovery process is down to bodybuilding- to regain muscle and to put a positive spin on weight gain and food.
Why I Love It:
Exercise the only thing that can really pick me up when I'm stressed or run down. Gritting my teeth through that extra rep or upping the weight another kg or two gives me immense satisfaction. Oh, and stuffing my face all day long is fabulous, although I wish I was huge and male and in need of 5k cals....
How I Stay Motivated:
I don't need to motivate myself to workout, the struggle is not over-doing it!

Life is alright, busy as usual. I just completed my first actual 'bulk' and since I had never really done it before I may have put on a bit more mass than I wanted - 30 pounds in about 3 1/2 months... But I just started my cut last week so we'll see where that takes me! Put some new pics up! :P
