I began teaching aerobics after I finished college. I really only seriously started on weights about two years ago, since then I have competed in three figure competitions.
Why I Love It:
I love the feeling I get during the work out, the rush that comes with lifting more and more. I also love the results that can be achieved through weight training. I am in complete control of my body inside and out!
How I Stay Motivated:
I continuously set new goals. For example participating in a competition, getting ready for a vacation, squatting a little extra weight...

To be able to dedicate so much time and effort to training and eating during contest preparation, and then to show off the results on stage made me very proud.

After a year off, not wanting to know anything about competition, refocus and be at my best for October 2008. I put on a good ten pounds in this year training hard and eating well, lose the fat keep the muscle and hopefully place top 5 next fall!
So this has been a pretty tough year. Tough physicaly, financially and emotionally. I tried to prepare for competition twice this year, the first time I lasted 6 weeks and then my health did not cooperate, nothing serious just my body rebelling. The second time I lasted one week, pathetic! Then...
Just got off the phone with my supplement company and they explained why one shouldn't cheat, but rather eat more of a "clean choice" for a cheat. So, I am on board with you...no more cheats -- with maybe one exception between now and late OCT for me. how much do you need to lean out??
