I wrestled for a couple years in high school and took weight training classes. In college I worked out off and on, but never stuck with a program. After college I took a job that kept me busy and drained my energy, and I stopped exercising. I recently quit that job and have lots of free time, so I decided to get back in the habit of working out while I had plenty of time to do it. I plan to stick with it for good this time.
Why I Love It:
I have always had trouble getting the motivation to go to the gym. But now that I've been going regularly for more than a year, I'm getting hooked on the high of working out and just generally feeling better all the time.
How I Stay Motivated:
I look for progress in the mirror and also look at what I want to change. It feels good to see and feel progress.
At the gym I just crank the music up and push harder when I'm feeling like quitting. Good music does wonders for my motivation.
Additionally, I'm planning a thru-hike of the Appalachian Train in 2011, so that's plenty of reason to get as fit as possible.
What supplements do you take immediately after your workout? Why?
I always drink some kind of protein shake within 30 min to aid recovery. I'm particularly fond of Gaspari's Myofusion, but I never stick with one protein too long.

Do you sometimes use energy enhancing supplements?
Yes
Which supplements do you take? When do you take them?
I have Red Bull or similar energy drink in the mornings and after my workout. I add Power Edge packets to my intra-workout beverage sometimes for an extra kick.
