When I Started: Jan, 2008
How I Started: When I was in my early to mid-twenties and active it was easier to be in fairly good shape and weigh under 200 pounds. But then I got an office job and my lifestyle became sedentary. My choice to overeat and eat the wrong things resulted in a steady increase of bodyfat.

When I got on a friend's scale in Jan 07 and saw 257 I was shocked. I knew I had let myself go (40" waist pants) but did not know it was that bad.

I started to be a little more careful about what I ate and exercised occassionally. I lost some weight but not what I needed to lose.

In Sept 07 I read a book about male obesity and it inspired me to read more and be determined. I read articles on nutrition, supplementation and training on bodybuilding.com and towards the end of the year began to implement what I was learning. I also learned from other people by reading their bodyspace pages and bodyblogs.
Why I Love It: Love feeling strong and healthy. Love the pump. Love seeing results. Love going down another pant size.
How I Stay Motivated: Making progress toward my goals. My wife and kids. Reading the articles, bodyspace pages, bodyblogs and getting comments from other people inspires me.

What tips would you give to others to help them stay motivated over the long-term?
For men especially, fat around the abdomen area is toxic to the vital organs. Get lean and stay lean.

Just stopping by to say thanks for adding me to your friend list. What's this I read below about seeing Kutless live. I love their stuff. I got the Extreme 2004 CD and they were on it. Hardcore music is my favorite and Christian hardcore is what I like to exercise to. I have a playlist on my other social networking page. I haven't finished my Christian one yet but they will be on it. Check it out sometime. Talk to you later. My other one is listed on personal website.

I wish you all the best in your transformation contest. Make sure you believe in yourself and your ability to do what needs to be done to achieve your transformation.
