When I Started:
Jul, 2006
How I Started:
After many years of drinking heavily with little exercise, my body ended up as a disgusting heap of fat. One day I looked in the mirror and said no more. So I started with the goal of molding myself into something that resembled a symetrical male body.
Why I Love It:
At this point, I love bodybuilding because it is my lifestyle. Not only the gym, but the nutrition, general health, dedication and discipline it brings to my life. There is no other hobby that one can do everyday, see results that are so amazingly satisfying, and in the end be healthy. There is always room for improvement and there is always something to work towards. It is also nice being stronger than my friends.
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by looking to those who are better than me and striving towards achieving greatness. In every other aspect of my life, I strive to be the best, so why not in fitness. I look to videos like the ones I have posted for motivation from the World's best past and present. I listen to motivational music when I work out to keep my going. I look in the mirror every night before bed and smile because I know that I look awesome.
BB Accomplishments:
I don't want to list off a bunch of weights that I have achieved because I don't think it is a contest. Setting new weight records is certainly satisfying, but to me, looking progressively better in the mirror is the best accomplishment I can achieve.

Everybody wants to be a bodybuilder, but don't nobody want to lift no heavy-ass weight.
Bulk up the muscle, and then trim down the fat for a perfect 1975 Arnold Olympia look.
Goal (Long):
I do not have a specific long term goal. I think the entire point of Bodybuilding is to be constantly and consistenly improving your physique, so in essence, my goal is to keep going until I die. Of course, in the meantime it would be nice to lose a little fat around the waist and put on 23 inch guns. As long as I can think to myself that I am physically the strongest guy in the room, I know I have done my job.
In the later years, I see bodybuilding as a way to keep myself out of a wheelchair and add on a few extra years to my life. It will help to keep me away from processed foods and inevitably cancer.
Weight Goal:
I want to GAIN 15 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
8%

Why I like this video: This video shows the King, Ronnie Coleman, showing his training, his dedication and his love for the sport. He is honest about the weight he uses and is not egotistical about his methods. He has no problem revealing how he is the way he is. He can do this because he knows 99% of the population does not have the emotional strength to do it.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Mr. Olympia
Played: 76
Why I like this video: Classic Arnold. He was the perfect physique, with amazing posing on the side. These were the glory days of Bodybuilding before BBers became 300 pound monsters.
Frank McGrath
Played: 57
Why I like this video: Frank McGrath is hardcore. No bull lifting at its best.
For me, the music I listen to is a huge part of a succesful workout. If the song is right, at the right time, it can give me the boost I need to grit my teeth and keep going for just a few minutes more either on the treadmill or during a lifting set. For me, it isn't the actual music that helps...

Good luck with you goals. You latest blog reminds me of why I started working out this year in March. The satisfaction of seeing results and feeling better about myself is what keeps me motivated and kepps me in the gym.
Keep up the hard work.
