When I Started:
How I Started:
I started out doing pushups, sit-ups, and jumping jacks on a daily basis when I was thirteen. Started to get serious during the spring of 2003 even though I had no clue what I was doing. Focused mostly on chest and biceps...and little else. Oops.
Why I Love It:
I love to push myself.
How I Stay Motivated:
I have a basic plan for every six weeks, but I never do the same routine twice. I see so many of my friends who live sedentary lifestyles and I never want to be one of those guys who has a big gut or always whines about how he should start getting in to shape. Even if there are times when I don't get a great workout in I still do the basics like push-ups and pull-ups.
BB Accomplishments:
Bench Press 1RM 205 in January 2006.

It's been a busy summer (weddings, moving, new job) so I haven't had time to do too much at the gym. I've been fairly steady with push-ups/crunches and the occasional basement workout. I tried for a 1RM on the Bench Press on 9/4 and was happy to see that I was still up at 185. I'm starting a...
Last time I did a 1 rep max bench, I was able to do 275 with slightly less than graceful form, but still wasn't cheating at all. I haven't done a heavy chest day for a while, but it's coming up soon in my current program, so I'll find out! I'm curious how all the recent negative/eccentric training has changed my bench, if any.
