When I Started:
Jan, 2003
How I Started:
After experiencing death and illness associated with lifestyle choices of those close to us, I decided to take charge of my destiny. After over 20 years of marriage, Julie (StarsInMyEyes)and I came to realize that life should be treasured and experienced to the fullest. We decided to begin living healthful lifestyles in order to negotiate life's journey in comfort, vigor and confidence.
Why I Love It:
Working out and bodybuilding require determination, discipline and an internal drive you alone are responsible for. The ability to push oneself beyond what is comfortable strengthens not only ones body, but your charactor as well. Striving for positive change in bodybuilding leads to similar successes in everyday life.
How I Stay Motivated:
The process of bodybuilding is self inspiring. The battles, victories and even the infrequent setbacks are true tests of ones fortitude. The challenge of continued progress keeps you alive, not only physically, but mentally as well. Competing in contests inspires further progress as you are forced to peak in your best condition possible.
BB Accomplishments:
2007 Washington Ironman Overall Novice winner.
2009 Washington Ironman Masters 40 winner.
