When I Started:
Jan, 2003
How I Started:
After experiencing death and illness associated with lifestyle choices of those close to us, I decided to take charge of my destiny. After over 20 years of marriage, Julie (StarsInMyEyes)and I came to realize that life should be treasured and experienced to the fullest. We decided to begin living healthful lifestyles in order to negotiate life's journey in comfort, vigor and confidence.
Why I Love It:
Working out and bodybuilding require determination, discipline and an internal drive you alone are responsible for. The ability to push oneself beyond what is comfortable strengthens not only ones body, but your charactor as well. Striving for positive change in bodybuilding leads to similar successes in everyday life.
How I Stay Motivated:
The process of bodybuilding is self inspiring. The battles, victories and even the infrequent setbacks are true tests of ones fortitude. The challenge of continued progress keeps you alive, not only physically, but mentally as well. Competing in contests inspires further progress as you are forced to peak in your best condition possible.
BB Accomplishments:
2007 Washington Ironman Overall Novice winner.
2009 Washington Ironman Masters 40 winner.

Luke is an extreme example of what is possible in natural bodybuilding and is a positive force in the sport. Luke's great attitude is just as impressive as his physique, both being superior.
It's so awsome to watch someone set goals for themselves and proceed to break down all barriers to reach them. Ava is setting the standard for the next generation of female fitness.
Enjoy the off-season! After T-day going to start dieting down...got a little carried away on my off-season. Sigh. Nice lat spread! I need to figure out how to do that better.
I hate to ask but I would appreciate and regard it as an honor if you would consider putting me on your “members that inspire list.” I am trying to work my way up the most inspirational ladder so that other amputees can feel motivated and inspired to work out. So many handicapped people feel as though they can’t get into shape and I want them to know that they can. Thank you.
Hey BIG Rob, thanks for the positive comments, my friend, having a granite hard body and feeling healthy is worth all the training and work, so let's continue to DO WORK and enjoy the journey, man. Peace, Rich
I just dropped by to say that you look absolutely fantastic! You have the body that so many men dream of but are not willing to put the effort into developing. I compliment you on your dedication, determination as well as your achievements. You are a fantastic inspiration to others, especially me. Stay strong, focused and determined & may God bless.
You are the protein in my shake baby! Thanks for being "The Best"! It goes without saying you mean the world to me! Blonde hair, bubba teeth and all! May I say you never looked better!!! For real!

Dude....I gotta see your routine now...you'll have to post it when you get your DVD. I would never have the balls to pull something like that, impressive though. I am glad to hear you had a good time. Later. Mark
