Hay I have been doing ok, got out of the hospital with blood poisoning which put a crimp in my workouts but I am now getting back into it. You are looking great as always!! Gayle

Cindy, Thanks for the compliment, some things for bench press that help is to do lots of pushups, also pick a weight that you can barely bench 10 times, then add 5 to it and do 3 sets at least once a week but no more than twice. Add 5 lbs when you can do three sets of 10. Also, take your time doing them, lower slowly, make sure you touch your chest and take a 1 or 2 count before raising. Do some tricep work also such as skull crushers. Hope that helps. Gayle

Sorry to take so long to reply, missed your message. Been hitting the weights pretty hard again, competing in June for bench and deadlift. Did the Senior Olympics and did very well. You have to tell me what you did to get such a huge bench press. I have been trying to get mine up for over 2 years and the best I can do now is 160. Maybe I am just old... Gayle

You might even want to try your luck with powerlifting. You would be surprised to find how well you can do! Getting those trophies is another big motivator!!

If you are interested, there is a USA meet in San Bernardino in March, the organization I am in doesn't do California. There is also the senior olympics for 50 and over which is how I got started sort of.

I would love to be able to compete in a bodybuilding competition but I doubt I could ever get down in weight to seriously be competitive. That is why I do powerlifting. There is no starvation diet involved, just go as you are and pick up the heavy weights.
