Get back to my normal routine and size after recent surgery
Goal (Long):
I blew my ACL, MCL, and PCL out. I also tore my meniscus so I am trying to keep motivated and keep up all the progress I have made in the last few years. I am hoping to be able to squat again in March. Looking for tips on maintaining after something like that. I can't run or any sort of cardio. Help me out.
What type of nutrition plan are you currently following? Give full details.
I try to watch what I eat. It is hard though. I love ice cream it is my favorite cheat food. I am more trying to keep gaining size though so I am not that strict right now.

How has bodybuilding and fitness helped and/or changed your family life?
I get to spend time teaching my kids good values with exercise and eating habits. They always love to have fun. My son loves lifting his baby dumbbells and he has a great grunting face when he lifts heavy.I get to spend time teaching my kids good values with exercise and eating habits. Are you a parent?
Yes
How has bodybuilding and fitness helped you to be a better parent?
Hey everyone, I was having a debate with a couple of my lifting buddies regarding muscle soreness and gaining size. I feel that it has nothing to do with a good workout and is just the lactic acid build up in the muscles. I get very sore after my workouts and I still gain some size. My buddy...
hey, send me pm or email with more detail of your injuries and surgeries. but if you have rehab, and rested, then now is recovery and rehab process. this will be and supposed to be painful. . and for your knees, recumbent bike for cardio/warmup/ knee repair and strengthening excercises. also helps with endurance. BUT leg extensions, leg curls, leg presses WILL be part of rehab anyway, so just get in there, and keep it light or use your own bodyweight.
there for healing. 4th tip: NO pull ups now. do pull downs. and no dips now, and very, very light chest, and NEVER DECLINE BENCH PRESSES! assisted pushups are ok.
hey.well you maybe did go too hard too fast.1st tip:leave ego outside gym. It okay to lift light weights sometime, especial now after surgery. No rush! Listen your body.2nd tip:Warm up exercises;keep reps high and keep light.3rd tip:do combination exercises, light.this will give you pump and strengthen ligaments and help with endurance repair. it will send blood to
my injuries were in the spring. took a couple of months to wait it out. does force you to be creative when you work around it. diet is my challenge too man. so is my attraction to red wine.LOL. sounds like you have quite the plan working man.
hey man--i had a tendon tear in my hand and a muscle strain in my forearm. was tough working weights around 'em. you have to be pretty motivated. with your knee, it seems like you would be completely free to do any upper body work. but DOA on cardio? what's working for you now?
Oh! I just noticed you sent a friend request. Thank you and best of luck staying motivated. For me, I just do it and don't think about whether I feel like it or not. I have a scheduled time for cardion and working out and...I just DO IT. I don't always feel like it but I do it anyway.
Thanks for stopping by, Mike, and for taking the time to write such a nice compliment...I appreciate it! How is training going for you? Based on you avi, it looks like it's going well!
Im alot better! You know whats funny is sometimes physical therapy is harder then a intense workout most the time. At least it was when I broke my shoulder. So im sure its alot of fun for the legs!:( LOL!
