*everything on track for Hawaii, will post fitness/body developments soon. Thanks for all the support you guys give.
----------------------------
I was 210lbs when I graduated from HS and wanted to start everything new. I went all way down to 139# by 08/82 and then had Appendicitis and went down to 129lbs. Held my weight around 140-150lbs for the next 15 years or so, ran and lifted weights when I lived in Hawaii and California and then woke up one Easter morning and quit running and lifting. Moved to Boston and started running and lifting weights @ L Street Gym and YMCA Main on Huntington. I moved to Denver in 2004 and let myself go and now I'm 44 y/o and want to start lifting and running again. My goal after getting back in reasonable shape is to try powerlifting, big legs, arms and chest, small waist. I have an 145 IQ and would like to be known for lifting heavy things and not being the one people ask for the answer. (lol)
Why I Love It:
I never did good in team sports, so it is an individual accomplishment and it is also good for health and peace of mind. Great for sex and great for self-esteem.
How I Stay Motivated:
Getting serious about lifting weights, and want to be a healthy Bear.
*Being 400lbs and 3 hairs on your body does not make you a bear, you're just fat.
I am fighting the hijacking of the Bear community by the Big & Beautiful gay community. The whole idea of the Bear community was created by men who did not identify with the drag queens, gym bunnies and chubby chasers. Fat guys have their own community, leave ours alone and stop blurring the lines.
Being a Bear is not running for Imperial Court, or Mr Leather, that's another group.
I know I will get grief, but I'm a 44 y/o man, I don't need validation from people too afraid to stand on their own.
I really want to get into powerlifting & if someone wants to work with me on achieving that I'd appreciate it (University Hills 24 Hour Fitness or I can go to another club if needed).
-To all the twittering gay shaved-rats who hog the benches @ the gym, get your figure-skating ass away from me so I can finish my sets.
Music-
I like Jamiroquai, Chet Baker singing (the documentary "Let's Get Lost" changed my life) DJ's from around the world.
-I got a hardon right now for the DJs in Madrid; Binomio, Raul Castellano, Oso Project, anything from MAD.BEAR. Great mixes and take you out of the reconstituted Pablum we end up hearing in the bars.
p.s. appreciate compliments but do not fool around with other guys, just looking for buddies and networking.
BB Accomplishments:
None really, just personal satisfaction of having my arms muscular and wearing jeans where the waist was loose and stayed up w/o a belt because my legs were so muscular.

1st time is a mistake, 2nd time you got a problem.

I'm getting my base down and have added 3 new dumbbell raises. Want to get a solid program down by end of August, actually working whole body.
Starting mass workout next week, and though I doubted it, Creatine actually gives me an extra pump when I take it beforehand.
Thanks for the compliment. Moving to the Big Island? Sweet! Being in a place were you can't hide under winter clothing for 6 months will definitely help keep you motivated to be in good shape!
Hey BJ---welcome to bodyspace and congrats on your rededication to fitness. Though that road gets harder as we age, the benefits of fitness increase logarithmicly.
