When I Started:
Apr, 2006
How I Started:
I always looked up to guys who had more meat on their bones then I did when I was younger. I hated being skinny and looking smaller then everyone else...more or less just not being very strong and not able to do certain activities or play as hard in sports as everyone else could. Then one day I had my last straw, I was jumped during the summer when I was going into my senior year of highschool @ a local taco stand. Every since that night I vowed to myself that I will be strong, confident and ready to defend myself and everyone who I care about for the rest of my life.
Since then I've put on over 40lbs, and i've had incredible strength gains compared to what I used to do. I honestly didn't know know how to workout more or less what a dead lift was or how to properly do a squat. I started to workout 3 times a week the summer I graduated highschool in 2004. I went to a local nutrition shop and got my first dose of creatine. This was just the beginning...
I really got serious when I started to work for 24 hr Fitness. I learned so much about fitness and nutrition while I worked there. More or less I was just so motivated by seeing everyone workout everyday that I was there. I become really close with one of my co-workers who do this day has been thee best weight lifting partner i've come across yet. Due to his help and motivation I gained over 25 lbs in a short amount of time. I never thought I could of gotten to 225. But with his help and eating like a mad man, I certainly attained the goal. From that high peak weightlifting time of my life I've realized now that since I did it, I can do it again. I fell off the band wagon due to employment issues and lost all my motivation. Therefore I lost everything I worked so hard to gain.
NOW I"M BACK! And more motivated to attain my goals faster and more efficient then ever. Because of my recent decision to become a police officer, i've decided more so now then ever I should be focusing on my physical fitness. My life or including my partners could depend on my physical fitness level. I want to be prepared for every single situation that I possibly can be. I also eventually want to start a family one day. I believe that showing the fact that i' am in good shape @ an older age will show my kids that it's a very important thing. Something that I hope to pass down to my kids, whenever that situation may occur. ( If it does) Now you know why i'm here and why this is all so very very important to me.
I hope to get to know you all very well and wish you the best in your journey to become fit. Feel free to write me and say hello!

Working out turned into a hobby and a AMAZING stress reliever. There is nothing like feeling the pump in your entire body fill your muscles up with blood. More or less coming out of the gym exhausted and happy. It's so satisfying to see results and have that constant relief of stress.

I also keep good/ positive people around me who have similiar views and or goals in life.

What BrooksKC Is Up To:

BrooksKCis inspired by Captain Ahab. Reason: "Look @ his picture and read his profile. His words itself speak of exactly why he inspires me. We need more men like him! "
My goal is to get into the best shape of my life and stay that way.
Goal (Long):
I'd like to be 225-230 with 8%-10% bodyfat. Carrying around a fair amount of strength...but have athletic capacity endurance wise. I'd like to be able to put up 350-400 lb on bench press, squats and deadlifts. I would also like to be able to run a 5k and be one of the top five to finish.
Maybe someday I would compete in a traithlon or marathon like my ancestors.
Concentration Curls, French curls & Preacher curls give me the best bicep isolation of the muscle directly. In which is where i've achieved the most growth from.

What calf workout has worked best for you?
Calf flex on the leg press, seated calf raise & standing calf.
So the past weeks I added cardio to the mix. And further more I changed my workouts from doing 4-6 max OT rep/sets. To something more profitable workout routine working towards muscle endurance. I don't get half as tired or winded as I was during the max-OT workouts. I'm sure the cardio is...
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting me on your most inspirational list. It is people like you that keep me inspired as well as allowing me to believe that I can make a difference in people’s lives.
