When I Started:
Jun, 2008
How I Started:
I've always been playing sports in and out of school and focused mainly on cardio when I hit highschool/college. Problem was I'm pretty skinny and lanky looking by nature so I figured it was time to build some muscle. I started in college but really didn't know what I was doing until summer of '08 when I spent some time with a personal trainer and cracked some books on the subject. I've been making pretty consistent gains since then and am making this page in the middle of my progress.
Why I Love It:
I've always been about being fit and healthy in all aspects of my life. I've always had a great diet and never let my weight or body fat get out of control. But I didn't want to be just "healthy" anymore, I wanted to really look my best and be at the top of my game. Even though my work ethic keeps me from just "maintaining," and doing the bare minimum, I do have to say that the process of working out and bodybuilding in my day just feels like it belongs there; it should just be part of my daily life.
How I Stay Motivated:
I want the results. I want to look how I feel inside and feel as if I am incomplete unless I do so.
BB Accomplishments:
Well so far, I'm maybe half way to my goal that I set out for when I started summer of '08 and have done it without sacrificing work or school. That plus the added knowledge of my diet and body is a great plus.
I started seriously lifting summer of '08 weighing 165. As of this summer of '09, I'm 180 and half way there. The first 15 was simply the change from not lifting, to lifting; the easy half. Now I'm looking to add what should be a very difficult 15 pounds in the next year.
