When I Started:
How I Started:
Started at 17 in a High School elective course for weight-lifting. On/off again for the next 19 years until my wife got a personal trainer that was training for a competition. He helped set me on a path to massing, and my motivation has been unreal! Being deployed has allowed me to really focus my efforts, and I'm loving the results!
Why I Love It:
The feeling I have after a very hard workout is very satisfying. Runner's have their high, working out gives me mine.
How I Stay Motivated:
Setting small, near-term goals that I achieve and keep me fired up to keep going!
BB Accomplishments:
- Achieved my goal of >200lb bodyweight
- Achieved goal of <7.5% BF to test my cutting plan
The things I have learned during this deployment will be great when I can get home and cook for myself again and have more time to dedicate.
Just starting a massing program, trying to get over 200 lbs for the first time.
Finally starting to mass back up after increasing calories yet again. Having a much more difficult time gaining than last time. Taking a week off to let the body recuperate as it's been a pretty harsh 5 months so far. Rest is good!
Mass a little during the winter season to be able to cut in the spring and remain over 200lbs at 9% BF.
Goal (Long):
Left Qatar at 213 and 9.5% BF. It is much harder to eat as much as I did while deployed, but I am maintaining about 205-210lbs and keeping the body fat off. Will continue to try to get enough calories to mass up until the springtime when I will begin a slow cutting phase to get ready for summertime. Will shoot for about 7%.
Weight Goal:
I want to GAIN 24 lb

Hey Glen! It's good that you come back now and again--I wouldn't be able to get this place out of my blood even if I tried. So you play the Ukelele and surf too? That's great! I don't surf, too afraid of sharks! Take care. :)
Thanks for the compliment! I'm originally from Puerto Rico so I use to surf there as a teenager. After a pretty nasty wipe out I haven't tried it since. :(
Aloha Glen, thanks for dropping by, as well as for the kind words. :) How long have you been back on the mainland, do you miss it here? I can't really say in regard to competing, got some shyness issues to overcome and a lot more work to do on my physique. But who knows what the future holds. :P xoxo Demetria
Hey Glen. All is well in Hawaii. I'm flying to GA next Wed & will be competing Saturday, the 18th. I see you don't have much longer to deal with the dry chicken breast hun. Looking good bro, keep it up when you get back to the real world.

Thanks man. When I first started lifting, I hated working legs. Really got serious about them the last year or so and have seen good progress. How is your training going?
Thanks! I am really working on getting cut. Not too worried about mass at this point. I was into a big bulking cycle my last deployment and I got big and strong AND FAT! I plan on never letting my waist get over 35 again or go over 16% BF.
Glen your looking great man, awesome pecs. How's the mass gaining going? I'm hitting the bench hard and on my first cut after 5 months of mass gaining. Hit 188 and about 178 now. I would also like to hit 200 with about 5%BF.
