Back in 1990 I picked up my first Muscle and Fitness Mag. and I entered the Iron Culture. I swore I would be Mr. Olympia some day. When I became a Marine in the spring of 1995, my desire to lift heavy and get big turned into the need to run and lead Marines. While serving in my beloved Marine Corps my average weight was 215 with 12% body fat. The Marine Corps thought I was too fat. At 5'9" my max weight was something like 168. Scoring a 1st class on my PFT kept me out of trouble. After 8 years of service I left the Corps at 225 with 18% body fat. I thought I was the fattest person in the world then. However, my fall from the ways of Iron proved ill for my healh and now I find myself weighing more that 270 and who knows how much body fat. I am on a journey now to get back what I have lost and gain more. As a Corrections Officer it is vital that I am physically at the top of my game. As a husband and father, I need to make sure that I am there for my family, living long and living strong. Casting shadows and chasing dreams.
Why I Love It:
I can see and feel the results of working hard. I have only started my return to the Iron Culture. It feels great!
How I Stay Motivated:
By setting goals and working towards accomplishing those goals.

1)Recover from shoulder and elbow injury. 2)Drop body fat% 3) Be a POSITIVE influence to all I come in contact with.
Goal (Long):
I feel I have already proven to myself that I can stick to a fitness plan, and it feels great! However, I have substained some injuries to my shoulders and elbow. Not so much from weight lifting, but from a combination of weight lifting, the work I perform and old past injuries. So far no surgery is needed. So I'm working with a Physical Therapist to treat, strengthen and prevent future injuries.
This is the perfect time for me to perfect my diet. I found a doctor that understands my goals. With his knowledge and advice I'm making progress. Even though heavy weights are not in my training program at this time, the intensity is still there. The Bossman will return.
Most importantly, I want to be a POSITIVE influence to all I come in contact with. Especially to my kids and other children. There can't ever be enough role models. Today's society lacks in morality and conviction. More men and women are needed to step up and become leaders. For one's destiny can be defined by their actions.
What celebrity body would you most like to have? Why?
The Bossman Big V. Because I'm the Bossman Big V and that's the bottom line.

What is the most dangerous weightlifting exercise? Why?
Deadlift without doubt. You could really mess up your back. Most people think just bend knees and lift from floor. Clean and pres and squats can be dangerous too. But I know of more people who've needed surgery and aren't lifting anymore because of Deadlifts.Deadlift without doubt. You could really mess up your back. Just 5 more hours and I will be off for Spring Break. Yeah Baby!! OK so I'm not going to South Padre or Daytona. I may however go to Sea World. Samu is always cool to see. I'll be using my Spring Break mainly to follow up with the Doctor and see a physical therapist. I realize I need...
Before I start any of my workouts, I perform injury prevention exercises and stretches. The Exercises are modeled after the Marine Corps Daily 7 which I call my Quick 7. I have two variations for this cycle.

They say train smater not harder, protect those injuries and live to lift another day.
The abs will do what the abs will do. I'm primarily focusing on changing the diet. Going from gaining 15lbs by anymeans necessary to leaning up is a big change.
My weekend is going to be nuts...lol!! Na, just doing a cancer walk. Like all night...Okay, that is nuts. Ta, ta Bossman. Have a great weekend with your bad ass self.
