Watched Pumping Iron, bought a 117 pound, cement based, set of weights and never looked back

WHY I LOVE IT:

Moving the iron: the effort extended, the burn and subsequent pain. Sick I know....

All sets are Heavy Duty (High Intensity)
I am currently looking for mass, period.

I am prescribing to Mike Mentzer's principles on Heavy Duty Training: which is predicated on the idea of reaching complete muscle failure, by means of one High Intensity set per exercise. Not only did Mike train like this to win the Mr. America contest, but Dorian Yates also utilized a version of these principles during his Mr O. reign.


Day one: Back
Wide pull downs 1 - 20 warm-up
Wide pull downs 1 - HI drop set
Deadlift - 1 - HI drop set

Day two: Chest
Incline bench press 1 - 20 warm-up
Incline bench press 1 - HI drop set
Decline bench press 1 - HI drop set

Day three: Thighs / Hammies / Calves
Smith Machine Leg Press 1 - warm-up
Smith Machine Calf Press 1 - warm-up
Smith Machine Leg Press 1 - HI drop set
Smith Machine Calg Press 1 - HI drop set
Stiff legged deadlift 1 - warm-up
Stiff legged deadlift 1 HI drop set

Day four: Shoulders
Military press 1 - warm-up
Military press 1 - HI drop set

Day five: Biceps / Triceps / Forearms(Bi and Tri supersets)
Standing dumbell curls 1 - warm-up
Rope tricep pushdowns 1 - warm-up
Standing dumbell curls 1 - HI drop set
Rope tricep pushdowns 1 - HI drop set

Day Six: Start rotation over
I will continue with this type of High Intensity Training until Mid to the End of January where I will then switch back to Blood Volume training.

Intended changes to current plan:


-45 minutes of cardio each day (in addition to heavy-duty workouts five days a week), for the next 15 days


-75 minutes of daily cardio for the next week

-Started the low-carb to no-carb diet a little over a year ago with no break. High protein with increased fats.


-Initially, I lost weight and have been significantly lean as a result ever since. However, over the last three to four months, I have actually began to put some serious muscle on: to the tune of about six lean pounds. This, all while remaining at a consistent 12% bf, a 32 inch waist and my strength has begun to go up.

200 crunches, 100 leg lifts, 2 minute side leg-ups (serratus) @ home


@Gold's Gym (Lake Mead, Vegas)


5 sets seated dumbell curls (worked up to 40# dumbells, 8 reps)


5 sets overhead two hand dumbell tricep presses (worked up to 105# dumbell, 7 reps)


5 sets hammer curls (worked up to 35# dumbells, 6 reps)


5 sets V-bar tricep pushdowns (worked up to 130 pounds, stack)


5 sets seated preacher curls (45 # plate all sets, 15 reps)

funsize3 Lol, those are my goals. I'm starting small. I have a Warrior Dash at the end of april to complete for a small taste of it. I wouldn't DARE try a Tough Mudder right now as I'd make a fool of myself lol. And I want to assemble a "team" to do it with. I don't think you would though, it looks like you have a strong core.
