I started reading fitness/bodybuilding magazines in high school. I was tired of being the skinny guy getting picked on. I graduated high school weighing 135 lbs at 5'10". I read all I could and had a friend's older brother teach me about exercises and spotting at the gym. Over the next couple of years I gained about 50 lbs and felt great. But years later I got complacent at my desk job and needed a change, which led to me entering the Body for Life contest...and winning! Major inspiration and life changing event! I have since attained my Masters in Exercise Science, several certifications, and have become a personal trainer.
Why I Love It:
It gives me the opportunity to get glimpses of my body changing. It gives me a huge sense of accomplishment after a workout and I am still feeling pumped up. I love being able to literally sculpt my body. I love the feeling of just being fit for anything life sends my way.
How I Stay Motivated:
Knowing that as a personal trainer I am a walking billboard representing my knowledge and skills. If I don't look good...how can I help someone else look good!
BB Accomplishments:
1999 EAS Body for Life contest - Won my age category.
The prize was a first class trip to Maui, Hawaii with an ocean view suite at a spa/resort, $2k spending money, a convertible mustang for the week, and a year's supply of supplements! Most definitely the high point of my fitness career to date!
Hopefully more to come...

Goal (Long):
I have been passionate about fitness ever since catching the bug back in my senior year of high school when I was tired of being the skinny kid. Ever since then I have continued to learn all I can about fitness and recently changed my career path to the field as well. I have the knowledge, now I need the dedication to apply this knowledge to my own body. I want to be the walking billboard for my future personal training business. I want to be lean and hard. I want to look like a cover model for a fitness magazine. NO...I want to be a cover model for a fitness magazine!

I have recently been refocusing my efforts in the gym to improve my overall physique and have been quite impressed with the results so far. The most impressive change has been an increase in my arms of about 3/4 of an inch in about 6-7...
