Aug, 2001
How I Started:
My first experience with weight training was in high school. I remember as a freshman I could only bench press 95 lbs. It wasn't until about 6 or 7 years later in 2001 when my brother & I started working out pretty seriously. I got up to about 186 (from about 160) and was pretty happy about it, but lost time to get to the gym and haven't worked out consistently since then. I finished graduate school in July '08 and had been telling myself that when I got my free time back without school, I'd return to lifting. I've been back at it for nearly a year now and I am loving the progress I've made, and have a long term plan to really transform my body into what I've always wanted it to be and to fulfill the potential my frame has. Now I'm ready to get serious!
Why I Love It:
I love that ridiculously sore feeling about two days after a hard workout when you can barely move (especially from leg day). It helps me to know I am working toward the goal & making progress....And I love knowing that if you are working hard and taking all the right steps, you are improving yourself every day.
I like knowing that I am in control of what my body looks like. I like knowing that I can make it better than ever before. I like how it can also inspire others to do likewise...
How I Stay Motivated:
By getting results and wanting to continue making progress towards the goal. Also seeing transformations take place in magazines or places like bodyspace is particularly motivating to me.
BB Accomplishments:
Gaining 16 pounds in 9 weeks following the Rock-Hard Challenge from July - Sept. '08(lost 3 of that due to the last month cutting calories somewhat & burning more fat).

Here is an old photo I found from the end of 2005. When this picture was taken I was 182 lbs with a good bit of bodyfat.
Took this after a 1 hour run this morning before breakfast. I'm going to get these abs in shape! (I did have my one cheat meal for the week last night - 5 pieces of pizza - gotta limit that stuff)
I put on 37.5 lbs from July to November 2008 and I never thought I would go that high. But now I'm tired of bulking and I'm ready to get the bodyfat off. My goal will be to lose as much bodyfat as possible while maintaining my size & strength. I'm not really concerned with what I weigh, I just know what I want to look like and whatever weight that is will be fine with me.
I want my arms, chest, legs, & shoulders to get bigger and more defined, as well as to better define my abs. I've never had a 6-pack so I intend on developing that by spring break. I think I have the most potential to grow in my legs as they are pretty small right now in proportion to the rest of my body.
Also, this coming June I'll turn 30 and I'd like to look better at 30 than I ever have before.
In the late summer and fall of 2008, I made more progress with working out and eating than I ever have. I was in the best shape I had ever been in and I was stronger than I ever had been. It was great. I basically did the 2008 Rock Hard Challenge twice (2 three month sessions). The first time...
Hey man, I saw you happen to upload some new progress pics. You've really been cutting hard. That midsection is leaning up well and I see your adonis belt showing too. Chest is looking swole and has good cuts. Definitely getting more muscle man! I hope to get back closer to where I used to be soon and then try to catch up with you. LOL I hope anyway. Arms are looking swole and like the viens. Keep it up!
Hey mate, good work on your pec seperation and shoulders in your profile pic. Keep up the hard work and you'll get those abs you're looking for soon enough.
What fat are you talking about shredding? If your profile pic is current, I don't see any! If you want some, though, I can give you some of mine. BTW....you on summer break yet?
Hey what have you been up to?? Still taking Mitotropin. The best product that I have used and am using is ******** D4 Thermal shock. This stuff is amazing at cutting the fat and giving you energy that last all day without a crash!!
Still looking great man and congrats on the progress over the year. Yeah, you may be able to pinch an inch but overall awesome physique. I'm hitting the gym starting tomorrow and going to really make some changes over the next 12 weeks. I want abs sometime this year, so I hope I can catch up with you in the future and you can tell me how its done. Keep up the great job man and it will be back to work real soon.
