When I Started:
Mar, 2007
How I Started:
Stuck to a very strict low-carb diet throughout the winter while traveling for work. Started out well north of 325 in December of 2006. Started to get back into weight training/cardio at the end of March and found myself with little to no energy no the low-carb diet, so I started searching and found bb.com. Excellent info and support, so I made the switch, and so far and I more than happy that I did!
Why I Love It:
Energy levels through the roof, even after being a desk-jockey all day.
How I Stay Motivated:
Short and long term goals to eventually obtain a healthy body.
"If I let you,
You would make me destroy myself
In order to survive you,
I must first survive myself
I can sink no further
and I cannot forgive you.
There's no choice but to confront you,
to engage you,
to erase you.
I've gone to great lengths
to expand my threshold of pain.
I will use my mistakes against you
there's no other choice.
I'm shameless now,
I'm nameless now,
I'm nothing now,
I'm no one now,
But my soul must be iron,
'Cause my fear is naked
I'm naked and fearless
and my fear is naked" -Henry Rollins (?)
BB Accomplishments:
Have always lifted off and on since the "glory days" of highschool football/track, but am once again hitting the weights hard and I can amazingly still do 30+ minutes of cardio (shocked myself!).

Me goofing off in front of the camera (I NEVER look this serious).
Task #1 for the day: figure out bodyfat measurements.
I've been tracking my body fat estimation since back before March '07 with a Tanita weight scale. Shortly thereafter I purchased the Omron handheld device from bb.com. My main problem is that they both give me good estimations to track...
Hey - I meant to tell you about the "cutting contest" here on bb.com. It is open to anyone that is ready to work. I am in it and about 70 others so far. If you are interested go to "madsano" bodyspace for details. It should be some good motivation for us.
Looks like you are still dropping weight! That's a good thing! I know it is tough this time of year. My uncle is a chef and we go over to his house on Christmas Eve. The smell is so good I gain weight just smelling it. Have a happy and safe holiday season!
I just thought that I would drop by and wish you my friend, much success in your quest to get fit. Always challenge yourself to be the best that you can be during each and every workout and believe in your own inner strength. I wish you all the best of the season and look forward to seeing your continuing progress in ’08.
Its good to read that you are back working out again! I see that you tried Atkins or at least a no carb diet. I tried that once - it stinks! Keep bustin' your butt, you will get to 270 before you know it!
How,s it going BigBear? Hope the desk riding is not keeping you away from the gym. Best thing about my desk is I can stay sitting after squat day. Peace.
Thank you for your comments! I appreciate your sentiments. And you know....if you ever do find me posting any other way....call me on it! I hope to always be helpful and I hope to never let a bad day rub off on the posts that I make. If I'm in a bad mood, I just don't post. I know it will pass, and I could not have my negative words back!
Thanks! I went to Kings Island this weekend, and based off what I saw, there definitely is something in the water making us all fat!
Good luck with your progress, looks like we have similar weight goals. Keep it up!
Thanks I appreciate it :) I honestly can't say one way or another with the hotrox, I indeed bought it for the same reason but I have not gotten to any plateaus yet and have been using it the whole time. Maybe it has attributed to my steady loss, but I couldn't say. Although every little bit helps!
You are making progress and I look forward to watching you progress even more. Push yourself to be the best that you can be, even if it means having to go outside your comfort zone. I look forward to seeing you not only achieve but surpass your own expectations. Keep reaching for the higher branches.
