Earned my qualifier. Getting 2nd place out of 4 heavyweights. Battled a sickness and a nasty rebound coming out of the Arnold Amateur... but pulled it together last minute to take home 2nd place and earn my national qualifier. |

Best competition I've ever faced. Got 10th out of 15 in the heavyweights... Extremely competitive and going against guys from all over the world. Best experience I've had in bodybuilding. |

5wks after Palm beach... my body had changed again. I got tighter and tighter while still holding my mass. At this point the 16wks of dieting had taken its toll on me, my real work, and my social life, as well as my relationship with my fiancee... But, my body looked the best it ever has, and I went against Sergio Oliva Jr... yes the legend's son... and he will be quite a force in the BBing world. So it was fun to have a showdown like that... Didn't get my qualifier but now the fire is lit and I'm looking for it at the end of 09 |

Got with my buddy Jarrod and tweaked a lot of things nutritionally speaking. My body made quite a turnaround from my poor showing at Tampa 9 months before, and it was crazy for us to decide that I should go from never winning a local to trying my shot at a National. But my adjustments and hardwork and new determination had me looking decent. So I headed to Palm Beach as a tuner for Panama... placed 3rd in the Heavies... it was probably the second best conditioning I've had at that point (the best was the 2006 when I didn't even finish comparisons)... Supposedly it was up in the air between me and the 2nd place guy... but he came in sharper... Mass doesn't mean everything. That's for sure. So, now I had more motivation for more shows and my shot at a qualifier... |

Hmm... looked great 4wks out... was prepped and ready to go at that point... then life took over... work started to suck and took all of my time... so I was stuck doing things around the apartment as work was so long all the gyms were closed... so yeah not working out for the last 4 wks heading into a show... probably should not have even wasted my time. |

Was coming in a hell of a lot drier and looking sharper than the wk before. But I pushed things to the limits and it cost me... Puked after the stupid 60 second solo before comparisons and never made it back out to try to get through comparisons. Looked great, luckily got a few pics, but the prep for that wk was too extreme (dehydration and water dropping) and it almost cost me my health. |

Had major cramping issues the Thursday out. Drank too much water going in. Had to puke to make weight and get in the lightheavies... definitely didnt do anything good for my nutritional timing. Was all sorts of wet and sloppy. I think they gave me 4th... it didn't much matter because I sucked. |

My very first show. I had help from a guy who had placed well in his older days. Basically laid out a specific diet for me the last 2 wks... But I dieted on my own research for 12 wks before that. Was a pretty cool experience and it set the grounds for me to compete again and again. |
