Background

When I Started: Aug 2004
HOW I STARTED:

I started running after I had my daughter in 2004. I just didnt understand why the weight wasn't coming off! It wasn't until 2010 did I realize I was doing it all wrong! Thanks to my trainer and BB.com I feel like I am more educated and equipped to accomplish my dreams.

WHY I LOVE IT:

Working out feels great! It makes me feel ALIVE. I like to call working out, my "Prozac". I am convinced that working out levels the chemicals in the brain and can often times prevent the need for antidepressants/anxiety medicine in most people. Also, I decided that I may be sacrificing my own career in order to raise my children and support my Marine, but that does NOT mean I have to sacrifice my self-image. If it means getting up at 3:55am in order to be back home in time for hubby to get to work, SO-BE-IT. I will sacrifice a career, I will sacrifice sleep, but I will NOT sacrifice my self worth! :)

I am not sure I even know where to begin!


I am in utter shock while trying to absorb this great HONOR of being selected amongst my fellow Bodyspace peers as a Transformation Challenge Runner-Up! Truly there are no words to describe the overwhelming feeling of surprise and joy. I am so completely humbled and taken back by the fact I was chosen to be apart of this selection!

A quick update

So the past several weeks have been very interesting as I have been doing a lot of research on how the body works. I really want to grasp exactly what happens when I ingest calories and what my body does with them. I want to understand the different effects that a diet based on macros has compared to a simple low calorie diet. I want to know why stubborn fat is stubborn. I want to know scientifically why HIIT is more effect than steady state. I would also like to figure out the most efficient way to build muscle and diet down etc. -Doesn't everyone?? And so on and so on... So I have been up

I sit here this morning in utter disbelief that the transformation is over! I can not express to you how much this meant to me! I am taken back at the fact that I actually finished the contest and now have this incredible foundation to build upon! I am so excited and feel like I have "good news" to deliver to anyone who may slightly seemed interested in changing their body!


As I was getting my hair styled for the photo shoot yesterday several women of the salon overheard my hairdresser and I talking about the Transformation Challenge and photo shoot. Out of sheer exc

JamieEason When people ask about macros, unless we hook people up to machines and run scientific tests, it's always a best guess anyway. I look at it this way, whatever calories you aren't getting in the way of protein have to come from either fats or carbohydrates. Make sure you get adequate protein and complex carbs with just enough fat, like maybe around 25g for you. May 5, 2012 9:34am

JamieEason Hey there! You don't start counting calories until you get to week 7. There is a calculator in the page to help you figure it out. I actually like to suggest that people find a range (low end and high end) and on the days that you train larger muscle groups, like back and legs, you eat on the higher end of calories. On the days that you don't train or train smaller muscles, you eat on the lower end of the range. May 5, 2012 9:31am

lexiness1221 I saw you won the challenge on BB.com's website and was surprised to see we live so close and are both stay-at-home Marine wives. My daughter is 6 1/2 months old now and I gained about 65lbs with her. I'm 154 now. It's nice to see a woman so close to my height and post pregnancy weight who got her body looking so great!
