How I Started:
My mother passed away in 2000 from Huntington’s chorea, a neurodegenerative disorder, at the young age of 50. Our family didn’t know much about the disease, even though it is hereditary, because she was adopted. From that point forward it has been very important to me to do all that I can to remain healthy as long as I can for my children. I began working out regularly and reading as much information as I could find. In 2004 I met my best friend Teresa, who is a personal trainer, and I have been addicted to lifting ever since!
Why I Love It:
I'm vain! I also love the health benefits, natural endorphins and energy. :)
Watching my body change has been exciting. I've always been thin but I like that I can see some muscle tone now.
How I Stay Motivated:
Time at the gym is "my" time, that motivates me. I'm also getting very close to 40, that stinks, but I want to look good and feel good no matter what my age is.
I've recently noticed my boys making healthy food choices on their own when eating out - that is great motivation!
BB Accomplishments:
The best so far has been melting away the fat from having babies. Now I'm working hard to build a bootie and add muscle.

Goal (Long):
Turning 40 this year stinks so I've decided placing in a figure competition would make it a whole lot easier! I have a small body frame and have never had much of a butt. I am working to add lean muscle all over, increase cardio to loose belly fat so that you can actually see some lower abs, and of course.....keep building bootie! My goal is to be ready by October 1st.
I'm still checking everyone's blogs as often as I can. I'm sorry I haven't gotten to be as encouraging as I'd sure like to be....and I am so proud of all the BGB challengers! My bootie isn't growing as I'd like for it to be....work is totally taking my life over right now and I don't see...
Ouch! Injuries are miserable. Doing great here.....Switched to a cycle of Crossfit about two weeks ago, and LOVING it! Making some good strength gains, but the workouts are TOUGH. It's been a long time since a workout made me sob! :)
