How I Started:
A long time ago, a friend needed to pass a fitness test to join the Royal Navy. She roped me in to going to the gym with her, and it was a proper old school gym. Read the magazines in the rest area, and decided I wanted to look like the women in the mag.
Why I Love It:
It makes me feel good - strong and healthy. I like to be able to feel hard muscles under my skin instead of soft flab.
How I Stay Motivated:
Well, after an horrendous and traumatic year, I finally had a very nasty shock when I actually stepped on some scales. The horror of seeing those figures, and the discomfort of jeans that cut into your belly are motivation enough at the moment! Ask me again in February....

I've got fat. Too fat. I need to lose at least 2 stone - 28lbs in total. I'll reevaluate at that point, but if I'm solid muscle by then, I'll be pretty lean. Clean up diet, lift heavy, plenty of rest. Oh, and cardio. I need to do cardio. Will start running again. Hopefully I can get back to my 3 mile runs again!

What do you think about people who "grunt" loudly while working out? Do you do it?

Sports bra, vest, yoga pants. Because it's comfy and supportive, and I would not be seen dead in shorts!!!!

Have just posted some recent pics in the progress pics bit of this.....I've been complaining that I'm no slimmer, in fact I'm bigger and 10 pounds heavier but I last posted pic up a year ago and despite being bigger and heavier, I seem to have put a fair bit of muscle on so now I feel a bit...

Pet peeve answer. Bodyhard is a great guy committed his entire life to fitness who speaks his mind. He lives in the Bronx and is honest as can be about what he thinks. Terrible accident nearly killed him and yet he came back. Check out his bodyspace. He'be back in Dec. Take care.

I understand, between work, and training I don't do much else just try to relax and do nothing, on my down time, but have 3 days off this week! because next week we go to 10 hour days 6 days a week for the holiday season..got to love retail.
