How I Started:
The skinny kid, wanted to bulk up and get stronger. I got fat, then dieted (Badly) and lost some of the muscle I had. Then did South Beach, from 250 to 209 pounds, and have maintained at 220 since.
Why I Love It:
I honestly think I have more muscle mass now then I did at 30. Which is not saying a lot. But it's something.
How I Stay Motivated:
My legions of adoring fans send me keys to late-model Mercedes Benz motor cars. Honest. They do. Now go ahead, join in. Hint: I like silver.
BB Accomplishments:
I'd have to say it was not puking and giving up when I was working out with "the Crew" (James (50+) Chuck (40+) and Shareef (30+)) when my trainer, Paul hooked me up with 'The Crew' when he left to shack up with his honey in Brasil. They later said they expected the 'White Guy' to give up. Well it took me a while, but I have to say, I proved them right!

I sure wish I hadn't lost these sunglasses. They were so slimming. Approx 240 here?

Goal (Long):
My waist is too soft and saggy, my organs take up too much room, I think they got kind of cocky in my 30's and started taking up all the space they wanted. Take that, spleen! Suck in that gut, liver! Drop and give me 20, lower GI tract! Ha. We'll whip them into shape. Uh, huh.
Well, the time didn's set a personal record (far from it, I was 10% above last years' best) but I consider it pretty good because I hadn't trained hard for it other than by doing yard work. I am using the push mower for the lawn and indeed, had spent the full day doing yard work before I ran...
I try to do cardio 3-4 times a week, and lift 3x a week, but rarely make it that often. I want to get faster at 5k's and start doing 10k's, and eventually work up to a mini triathalon.
since we last chatted, i've changed up my workout routine, i'm putting more effort into bodyweight exercises and started doing cardio and keeping my heart rate in the aerobic zone. i've lost about 12lbs in 7 weeks! got 1 more week to go man before my long (7 week) holiday to india!
lol i know right? Not bulking like that right now thouh anymore...tryin to really lean so i'm stayin away from that idea...for now hahahaha, soon enough i'll do that again. hope everything is going good at ur end.
Thanks for the compliment! Don't really call what i a doing recovery. I just do a very light weight 20 rep warmup set before I lift the heavier weight now. Helps a little.
Thanks man, you made some great success also. I had dropped the ball a while back but about 7 mo. ago I was motivated by a few college friends and i started lifing again I went from 185lbs to currently right now 219lb and im still wear the same size paints..so little if any fat gain
