"Maintenance and improvement at will and when needed"

Personal Info And Background:
Real Name: Roland S Persson
Sex: Male
Age: 49
Location: Sweden
Occupation: University professor (Psychology), PhD in psychology 1993, MEd in 1984, IFBB Trainer License in 1987
Personal Website: http://www.bostream.nu/beefq
Gym: Atlantis Gym
Gym Location: Barnarpsgatan, Jonkoping, Sweden
When I Started: Sep, 1983
How I Started: ...once upon a time very impressed by Frank Zane as seen on a Magazine Cover, but it took 15 years between that cover and before I entered a gym for the first time. I was hooked from the start.
Why I Love It: To me it has to do with a male ideal. There are many ways to be "manly", but a muscular physique is certainly the most obvious attribute. Apart from that, I really like the training as such.
How I Stay Motivated: Never really had problems with motivation. Never had to force myself to train, not train with someone to stay motivated. Have trained with several guys over the years, and for a time it was fun. But none of them managed my discipline and consistency. So they never lasted longer than a few months.
BB Accomplishments: I am probably the only bodybuilder anywhere who never stood on a stage and still have been invited to compete in three Mr Universe competitions (NABBA's, WABBA's and IFBA's).

I was a member of NABBA many years and prepared three times to do the NABBA European Championships: diet, posing, the full package familiar to most bodybuilders. But everytime NABBA screwed up by moving the shows both in time and location at the very last minute making it impossible for anyone with a normal job to participate. You can imagine the frustration! I left NABBA. It is really a crappy organisation - or DIS-organisation. I have yet to hear anyone speak good of them.

It does not matter anymore, however, because I decided that Bodybuilding for me is gymwork, not stagework. I have no plans to again make the effort to compete.

Workout Program:
Workout changes with needs, but the programme I like the best is a 5-day split like this:

Day 1: quads only
(full squats 5 sets, quarter squats 4 sets, leg extensions 8 sets)

Day 2: biceps and triceps
(biceps curl in the rowing machine 5 sets, dumbell curls 4 sets, cable concentration...
