I was really unfit from having glandular fever and my doctor suggested I join a gym to get fit-and I was VERY unfit-I failed the fitness assessment badly!!
Why I Love It:
Weight training has given me the ability to transform my bodyshape and my self esteem-nothing beats that! Once a wallflower, never again :)
How I Stay Motivated:
Periodisation works a wonder as does regular goal stting. Having a comp to prepare for is the best motivation though
BB Accomplishments:
Competed twice-last year was my first comp having been through therapy for my anxiety disorder, major accomplishment! Also setting up my online personal training business and becoming involved with the administrative side of running shows.
Get better balance between my work, training and social life.
Goal (Long):
I have good upper body shape but I've had alot of time off due to illness so I've lost muscle which I obviously need to regain in order to compete again.
I want to gain back the muscle I have lost plus some more whilst maintaining my new diet plan and looking after my body better.
I want to gain back the lost strength and get back to my goals of gaining strength in my shoulders and biceps :)
well,no excuses for not updating my blog really except that my personal training business is flat out right now and I'm keeping up with my clients first and foremost! I am still training,3 x full body workouts per week as maintenance plus some plyo work for the legs and butt ;) It all seems to...
At the moment I am getting back into the gym after a 2 month hiatus due to illness and I am finding the full body style of training gives me good results without giving me too much DOMS-yay! I am doing this 3 x week plus 3 30-40 minute walks and I seem to be gaining back the weight I lost when...
Wow! it seems like alot of PT's in the states have made their own websites so great to see a trend happening here that works! hey as long as your training thats the main thing, hey? how does the old saying go? if you dont use it you loose it. lol. my year has been allgood, still recovering from my comp. starting to really ramp up the calories so i can gain more size, im hoping to put the same amount on as i did last year to compete in the federation oct09
yeah there definately are some big guys in there, i was thinking 8weeks for a cut.. im still fairly lean, but then again you can never be too lean when it comes to the crunch on stage.. i wanna keep it natural though.. no roids! lol
Hi! I am hopefully going to be able to step on stage late this fall. I'm having surgery in July so it depends how fast I recover. But trust me I'm itching to get on do a show! :-)
Take care!
Izzie
hey beckie, im still gaining atm lol. i want to enter in the over 90kg as i went and spectated at the nabba in april. im currently sitting on 93kg and have just changed my training to just 3 days a week for mass gaining purposes. so hopefully i will put on enough before my cut.. any ideas beckie?
Hello Beckie...I am doing well. I just finished a show on May 31 and I am competing next week at the NGA Music City in Nashville, TN. It will be my first time there so I hope it will be a fun time! How is life in New Zealand? It is hot as hell here in TX...an early heatwave :(
Things seem to be going well. Workin toward 470+ deadlifts..top lockouts on power rack yesterday at top 3-4 inches. Will drop the pin next week another 2-3 inches. The way the thing is seup you can not do smaller jumps. Hopefuly it will not kill me..just started being abble to deadlift again 2 monthes ago.
Looking good. Not shore what to do with the edible..........with out getting slaped..but id you follow a if it moves eat it you will gain the weight back!!
Yeah, should be good. I've stopped bulking for now, and am cutting for a bit, since I feel a little uncomfortable with the BF that I gained in the process. But my delts and arms have definitely more size, which is good (so do legs, which isn't so great), so, yeah...
Yeah, I'm stoked with it! (Even if I didn't stay as lean as I would have liked during it). I can't compete with WNBF until NEXT year (rules from Danny), but I want to compete this year still, so looking at North Island Champs over in Masterton and wanting to do NZFBB Nationals in October! I know I will do well, even this year! If I wasn't so bogged down with assessments for the next 2 weeks, I would come and eatch this weekend. You'll have to let me know how it goes!
Yeah, fun. At the moment i wish i'd kept on and decided to compete. But I have gained a far amount of LBM instead, so I won't look so unbalanced in the WNBF comps. But yah, let me know how it goes. Should be great :)
Hi Beckie! I always use Phil's tan - he's a good friend of mine! I always use contest colour with Body shimmer but I just test trialed a new shimmer. We call it "poo" tan, it's fantastic. One of my girls just won her division wearing this new shimmer by Phil. Hope you're well & training hard!! xo
I don't want to be turned into a 'girly-girl' (I shudder at the thought); but I WILL embrace my feminine side and be waht I need to be for the competition!
Sorry to hear about that; I hope they can help you!!! I've decided NOT to do April's comp and focus instead on building some mroe muscle for the october/November comps. But thank you.
Hey, just found out that comp is 12 and not 19. And bout the 'seminar' on Sunday (if I'd known earlier I would have been able to go, since I'm coming down tomorrow, but am all full up). The pressure's piling on :) Hope you are feeling better!
Sorry to hear about that; hope you get better SOON! Being sick is no fun...Thanks :)...I'm down again around the 23-24th of this month; maybe you want to catch up, or in March maybe (if you feel better)?
