I want to be healthy, eat well, look and feel good, and know that I'm continuosly making improvements and striving to attain my goals.
Goal (Long):
I want to be a balanced, disciplined person in all areas, physical health being one of these. So some of my goals are: lose b/n 5 and 7 lbs, maintain/build more muscle, do more than 2 pullups in a row (eventually getting to a 3X5), increase my bench to 95, deadlifts to 150, squats to 135 (and then back to my 2007 #'s).
Also, I haven't been as strict with my diet over about the past 6 months so I'm gonna have to reign in on that some more too. I've already started - keeping food journal and sticking to 1500 - 1700 calories/day. Weekends are always a challenge for me though...
Trying to do more cardio too, was going for an hour each morning (walking, elliptical, etc) for about 2 months but now I'm starting school so it's gonna be more difficult. I'm still going to try to stick with this schedule at least 3 days a week, if possible doing at least a short cardio bout on the other days.
04/17/09 UPDATE!!!!: Met all previous mentioned goals. Ok, so looking back, I haven't met ALL of them but I'm pretty stoked about what I have been able to do. I don't remember when I wrote the stuff above but it was in approximately 02/09. Since then I've dropped down to 111.5, maintained a strict 1500 cal/day diet INCLUDING ON WEEKENDS, and best of all, on 04/10/09 I did a set of 3X5 bodyweight pullups!!! When I put that as my eventual goal I didn't foresee it happening anywhere in the short term and only a few months later, here it is. If only I could convey how much I've looked forward to this, heck it took me over a year just to be able to do 1 dang pull-up. So yeah, good reports all around. Deadlifts and squats haven't progressed as much as hoped but at least I've remained pretty steady with those despite being out of it for 2 weeks with a twinge in my knee. No excuses though, I've just gotta keep working for progress and I'm sure with some determination they'll get where I want them to be. I did 135 1X6 deadlift today and 125 on squats for 1X5. I think I'm gonna switch strategies soon and change it up a bit so stay tuned. Oh yeah, been doing cardio 5 days a week now too =)
