When I Started:
How I Started:
I was very overweight during high school, 5'6 around 275 at my highest, and was only 16 with these stats. I felt there was nothing i can do, these were the cards i was delt so i embraced it and eat anything and everything. My cousion trained and also started to competed. He told me to come train with him in his basement because he knew i was way to embarished to be seen in a real gym. I started weight training 5 days a weeks, i felt pain and soreness i never felt in my life. The first day was chest, no joke for about a week i had to sleep with my hands over my head because thats the only way i could deal with the soreness. Over the next couple of weeks i started to see i slight diffrents and thats when i knew if i gave it all i had i can succeed. I joined a real gym added cardio to my routine and tried to best create a diet with what i knew at the time which was pretty nothing, expect to elimanate soda, junk and fastfood from my diet.
Why I Love It:
Because it is a compation with myself, when i go into the gym the weights aren't going to change, 100 pound dumbell is always going to be 100 pound dumbell. Its not like anything else. You watch a football game and some team wins the superball because they had a great quaterback, next year there will be a team with a great defense line that will win. But a 100 pound dumbell is always the same, if i cant move it thats all on me, no one else.
How I Stay Motivated:
I think about all the times people told me i can't do someting, I feel that any able body person with out any type of "REAL" handicap can do anything they want to do. The only way to stay motivated is to believe you can accomplish what you set out to do.
BB Accomplishments:
I am 5'8 and went from 275 pounds of unhealthy fatness, to a pretty lean(around 10-11%)175.
Hey thanks! I'm glad you liked the bars. I used to train BJJ all the time, but since spring 2007 I stopped because my work schedule changed. I plan on starting back up again in November. Your BJJ school is awesome, Renzo has a great school!
