When I Started:
Jul, 2007
How I Started:
Since my childhood, I have been very athletic. Tought aerobics for 5 years in college. Have worked out ALL my life but, it was not until I made it a definite goal and dream in my mind that I made it possible. I actually started by doing bench press single lifts on several powerlifting competitions setting records for the state of TX, but there are not many close to where I live. I looked at a pic of myself back in Jan 05 and had to really think hard on my health and safety.
Why I Love It:
Working out for me is a LIFESTYLE, a way of living. It helps me relieve so much stress from the day to day activities. In the nutshell, it puts a smile on my face and it is really contagious. I love being able to help others through my story and continuos progress. It helps me remember where I started from and where I what I want to achieve.
How I Stay Motivated:
In many ways... But honestly, muscle and fitness magazine and bodybuilding.com are a must on my daily "chores". I turn negative comments into positive ones by working out and sweating off my frustrations. I think on where I was and where I am and how hard has it been to get here. I read Muscle and Fitness Magazine while doing certain cardio machines to stay motivated....It really helps to pass the time.
BB Accomplishments:
Had the guts to step on stage at the Heart of Texas 07 and Lackland Classic 07 on NPC shows. NOW, that was a dream come true...scary, oh yeah! Rewarding? Definitely. Set bench press single lift TX state records on powerlifting.

Dream on getting my pro card and if God allows compete as an IFBB Figure Competitor. Goal is to lower my bodyfat as low as I can and stay fit to my satisfaction. Life preservation....safety.
Goal (Long):
Through my whole life I have dream on competing but due to work schedules and other responsibilities it was impossible and every time I started I had lots of set backs. Always wanted to be a professional bodybuilder but because of my career, I opt on being a figure competitor(which is not bad at all).....it does not go to good with too much muscle. I need the speed, but the strenght as well. I did some single lift bench press powerlifting in the past, but it was not as rewarding as figure competition. When I was a child I would look up to Cory Everson and wish that I could be as muscular, slim, strong, fit and have the feminine look like her. I don't want to settle for just being in shape, I want to exceed my high expectations (believe me when I say that)! I dont want to be an ordinary normal woman, abnormal is more fun. Keep people guessing. I want to maintain a great abdominal section, a low bodyfat and feel confident everywhere I go....but at the same time, I dont want to look sick. I want my legs to be slim and tone but as muscular as my upper body....I already have the mass, they just have to come down a little bit more. I have a puertorican lower body...what can I say? But, super happy with what God gave me, would not have it any other way. I would like to be 130 pounds, with 10-12% bodyfat, and be able to run forever....and I mean that. I know with focus, full dedication, persistance, patience, and commitment I can accomplish it in the near future. If it's God 's will it will happen....For now, it is my misssion.
Depends. But definetely 4 sets per excercise. Maybe 4 to 5 excercises per bodypart. Reps? It fluctuates between 25,20, 18, 15, 10, 8. But, I dont waste a set. If I do 15 reps, but can do 18 I go for it and then I increase the weight. Some days I feel stronger than others.Depends. But definetely 4 sets per excercise. Maybe 4 to 5 excercises per bodypart. How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
45 sec to a min. I use my mio watch to keep track of the time. I keeps my heart going and my blood running through my vains. Sometimes, I do lunges, plies or squads between sets with light weight, Oh, and I keep my headphones on so people dont try to socialize. GYM time is my relaxation time. Its like heaven on earth if you know what I mean. That is the time I do things for me...I am in control. (-:45 sec to a min. I use my mio watch to keep track of the time. What celebrity body would you most like to have? Why?
Honestly my own. All of them are different. I dont envy anyone, if I want to look like someone or close to I should know what to do. All celebrities are awesome, but everyone has a different body type. They work so hard and I get tips from all of them. Work with what God gave you.Honestly my own. All of them are different. Bless your Dad...a drainage system; amazing. You had quite a weekend. I pray u got some rest in there. I'll be looking for your name. Wishing u focused and injury free training thoughts! :)
Yes, discretion is quite important. I'm glad that you challenge yourself in training and the contests. Very impressive and inspiring. How was the weekend...good?
Thanks, Dee. I appreciate it, and will follow your advice. Yeah, the nuggets had to go, and I'm feeling better now. And why didn't u mention you were going for the Flex Bikini Online contest. I almost missed you...:) And yes, you got my vote, my head-turning friend!
Hey Dee, I no problem!..I know life can get busy!..and it sounds like you are! I have never heard of novotiral and clenbuteral..Will they come up positive in competition?
Nick
Hey, Dee! Great to hear from you and that you're back home. I admire your discipline. U know, I had no idea that honeydew melon had so many carbs. Had to cut it out as well as the nuggets. Could've knocked me over.
Thanks for the encouraging words. Your hard work has paid off. Great pics! I am a fan of muscle and fitness for women also. It is a great read! Have a great weekend!
Now my stomach is growling...:) I like the imagination on the dishes. That must be the key to your outstanding figure and commitment. How are you doing, my TX diva?
We do the glutamine capsules simply for the ease of carrying things with you to work etc. We take 5 grams, 4 times per day and carrying a tub around along with managing meals could get cumbersome unless you have other ideas. VPX bars are the best out there health and we think taste wise as well. The major drawback is they are very high in calories (about 440) per bar, but can be split in half if need be. Congrats again on your successes!
Wow Dee, you have as good of a story and outlook on life as your physique appears. It is comforting knowing that there are others out there that who really want to live life like you do. Thanks for giving me an extra boost of inspiration!! :) IFBB look out!
Talk about lack of ettiquette! What was she thinking? Now, be nice...at least she increased your workout intensity...:) Don't let her & others dim that wonderful smile. And thanks for the chicken recipe...hmmm, I'm looking forward to it.
Shoot yeah babe :)!!! I lost it slow for a while on purpose cuz I did gain major fat over the winter, but also gained a lot more muscle than I thought!!! The prep is showing that HAHA!!!! WOOHOO! I weigh less now but just don't weigh in until Sat!
