When I Started:
How I Started:
Being active has always been a part of my life in one form or another. I started dancing at 8 years old and didn't stop until I was 25.
Why I Love It:
Because NOT working out SUCKS.
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing results, and thinking about people I know who are only 50s/60s but live and act like they're ancient. There's too much life to live to sit on a couch and get fat. And as "mean" as it sounds, I'm terrified of being a dumpy wife who blames it on giving birth 20 years ago!!

I want to improve my running and cycling and to be stronger overall. I'd like to gain some muscle, but not just for appearances. I'm a creaky former professional dancer and I think it would help my grumpy joints. That's a bit vague, but as long as I'm gradually increasing the weight I can lift I'm happy.
More specific goals: The full 100 mile route of the Hotter'N Hell in late August, and maybe the Body vs. Earth Triathlon in September *if* the gimpy shoulder will allow me to swim again!
MOST IMPORTANT FOR NOW: a fit pregnancy!
Your progress pictures are pretty impressive. Good work. I've always wanted to give a triathlon a shot. I've ran half marathons and marathons and biked a little, but my swimming is pretty weak. I have a problem with sinking.
Ohh geez I'm so sorry to hear that! I hope you get better! I will def check out the journal! Thanks again and good luck to you too with your training and healing.
