When I Started:
May, 2007
How I Started:
I began training for a while when I was 17, but after a motorcycle accident that broke a bone in my hand, I lost my drive. I worked at a GNC store at the time. Recently after becomin part owner of a sports nutrition store, and going through a shitty break-up with my girl, I dedicated myself back to the iron santuary we all call the gym. In 11 weeks I have gone from 130 lbs, to 162 pounds! I am doing my first competition on sept 29, 2007 in the lightweight class (165lbs and under)
Why I Love It:
I love bodybuilding and fitness because as an owner of a sports nutrition store it has become a huge part of my life. I love it because I beleive in it, and hey...Im not gonna lie, I cant complain about the attention it gets me. lol
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated with two easy phrases "SHUT UP AND TRAIN", and "QUITTING IS TOO EASY".
BB Accomplishments:
Gained 32 pounds in the 11 weeks since I started. First competition Sept 27, 2007.
AS MY SEPTEMBER 29TH CONTEST IS FAST APPROACHING, I HAVE HAD TO UP THE CARDIO LEVELS. WE ALL HAVE TO PRE-CONTEST, WHETHER TO LOSE 1% OR 5% ETC OF OUR BODYFAT IN THE CUTTING PHASE. PROBLEM IS CARDIO SUCKS! GENERALLY IT IS SEEN AS THE MOST BORING AND ANNOYING PART OF ANY TRAINING ROUTINE....
I've thought about competing, but my diet sucks most of the time and I am not sure I have the guts. Also, I feel like I may need a bigger chest to look more symmetrical & do better. Thanks for the encouragement though.
Great job building your physique, Drew. Impressive size and definition. Continued success with your training and contest prep. Have fun on Sept. 29. -Jeff
